He does a fair few guest appearances on GCN.

He has ridiculous power, I seem to recollect 500+W for a hill climb . For such a 'feather'weight ;)

Yes, I've seen him on GCN a lot .... recognise quite a few of the climbs/rides the GCN rides are on. They go up a little faster than me

I could have been on Eds live stream (for about 5 sec) had to leave A pen and rejoin C pen got there with 42 secs to go . Nice ride until the hill where my ds started shouting at me . Thanks @Peter Salt you probably gained me enough place it's surprising how deep you can dig sometimes
I couldn't let you get beaten by a German lass :laugh:

As a C rider, you're actually free to join higher cat. pens whenever you want. No rules against that, and you might just hold on to the blob for longer then you think. Judging by the FRR notice board, some of the slower riders have been doing exactly that so starting with stage 4 there will be just one pen for all.

I've said it before, but it's why I like the 3R races, as all cats start together (although via different pens). On a flat course it's good to see how long you can hang on to the faster cats .... only really works on the flatter courses like London, but good drafting practice

I actually prefer separate pens in this stage racing .As I have raced at the same time each stage it's roughly the same riders and you get to know your opposition. On that course if I joined the A blob I would be at max to hold on then I suspect I would explode on the climb . That course was all about the last 6km . My race quick start 10 riders got dropped 20 of us cruised round London until the climb and then everyone for thierselfs . I think an 18km race would produce the same results as a 36km race

Nice increase. Not very often do you see a near 10% increase in FTP :okay:
In the previous FRR (5 weeks ago?) I got a few results very close to my FTP, despite being fatigued, so already back then thought my current number must be off. After that the only races I did was the ZRL and the nature of the courses didn't really push me - the TTT came close though, I finished that a few watts below FTP and felt I had soooo much left in the tank. The race yesterday was just a perfect storm really - hard pace on a flat course so I was desperate to hold on to the blob. Nearly lost the wheels 5-6 times and had to surge, slingshot through the blob, settle down, push again. So 20 min power was best ever (263W) but 30 & 40 min. was as well (257W & 253W respectively).

Was definitely worth it - finished the stage in 6th in my category, despite only 66th result on the final hill (that started around 41 minutes in).

What do you weigh now Pete?
Weight has very much settled down now, Andy. Been 67.5kg or there about for 4 or 5 months. That gives me a BMI of 23.6 so I'm not thin by any stretch of imagination

Gain through fitness vs weight loss:

06/11/2021: First Zwift race - that you fan viewed! 20 min. at 208W at 73kg
28/11/2022: Latest Zwift race. 20 min. at 263W at 67.5kg

So an increase in 20 min. W/kg from 2.85 to 3.90. 1.05W improvement overall, 0.35W from lost fat so smack down 1/3. Remaining 2/3 is power increase. I did one structured training session throughout all that time - didn't like it.

Incredible performance increase :notworthy:

I didn't realise you were so close to A cat.
