@berty bassett
I noticed more than 4 weeks have gone by without you taking an exotic bicycle vacation. You can’t count on your buddy @<Tommy> to not rat you out to the contractors guild. You know if you let your clients count on you being there steady it will only set the bar too high. Better not risk getting kicked out and go for another foreign ride.

😄

Don’t worry Randy it’s all under control

At the moment Bob, Lee, a mutual friend and myself are planning a trip for next summer called the ‘Raid Pyrenees’. I think it’s the most challenging one yet. You have a set amount of time to ride from one end of the Pyrenees mountain range to the other. I’m not exactly sure do all the finer details to be honest. But it all sounds suitably painful!

Hi @<Tommy> I have done the Pyrenean Raid and it is awesome. Which direction you doing it in?

Ha - would love to get away and escape this weather - I have to agree that it’s been a long time - had the chance to go up Scotland last week but had the horrible job of burying Ruby and sort of knocked the stuffing out of me
Got all camping kit ready to clear off when things calm down

I’m so sorry to hear that. But you can be happy that she had an extremely long and happy life. There is nothing that helps but you know she hit the jackpot when you took her in.

If you fancy something different, ride from Barcelona to Bilbao over the Pyrenees. I think it's about 100 miles per day. Lots of climbing too

Excellent!

We’re going east to west I believe. Hopefully lee doesn’t suggest we make it an out and back…

Which way did you go Martin? I’m really looking forward to going back to the Pyrenees. Hopefully when we go up the tourmalet this time I can see more than just my bars and stem 😄

Alex you were right C team Cyclechat, jumped into the twenties for ranking :okay:

Excellent. Looks like a couple of other teams got some improvements too as we'd have been 26th not 29th on yesterday's numbers.

I jumped nearly 80 points for personal ranking

A weird quirk of the ZP "system" is you can see a person's rank before a race and their score for the race a few hours after the race, but unless they "refresh" their profile, their ranking score doesn't update there until the next day (and the same for team rankings).

Must do more :stop:

I'm doing a B race at 1000 on Two Bridges loop. Going to try and keep up, but I expect I will bomb out after 2-3 laps. We'll see.

It takes a few hours to update.

Looks like @Joffey won the first Tiny race :wahhey:

Then I died

Not sure if it is the cold the wife has which I am catching or if I went too hard in R1 or a combination of the 2 but I bailed half way through race one gasping for air!!

Will do them again though - lots of fun!

We went West to East which finishes on the Med. You have 100 hours to do 720km

"There are two official versions: a 720 km route to be completed in under 100 hours for randonneurs or a 790 km route to be completed in under 10 days for cycle-tourists. A medal and certificate are awarded on successful completion."

A few of the Tenerife guys have done it. My mate Michael from London has done it, and he's a big fella. Walk in the park for you featherweights

Zwiftpower now has me as a C, so back to getting spanked in C races

I entered an EVR Winter Series race yesterday when we got back from a weeks hols in Cornwall. My weigh has dropped to 81kg so I updated Zwift before the race. I set a new post-Op high 20 minute effort so FTP rises to 212W.

It was a race where all cats start at the same time so I had to push really hard to stay with the group around me which was mainly C with a few B and half a dozen Ds including me.

It was 41km (3 laps of London flat) so a bit longer than I've been doing lately.

I came 3rd D on the road but the front two averaged 3.2w/kg so were DQ'd on ZP - giving me a gold in my last D race.

Off topic - anyone got any recommendations for a treadmill? My good lady wants one for our pain cave.

Im getting the FS14i Nordic freestyle for my Mrs for Xmas, so no telling Ok .

It has several modes, from walking to ski erg movement. We've got an ancient treadmill, which works, but she fancied something with a bit of stepper feature too
