I'm not long back and had a feed of veggie curried stew so unfortunately I'll not make that time Michael. I'll do well to be off the loo by the time of the later race. šŸ˜¹ Good luck!

You may see that stew again, it's a pretty relentless race as all the groups were pushing for time. First climb was horrible, was right at the front for 80% of it then reality hit and I dropped 100 places

Some of the guys in your heat I recognise from our ZRL League. Some top names there. Your heat was a lot faster than mine. Probably a lot of ZRL people wanting to race at about the same time as "normal". And about 3 times more people. Your time at 104th was only 10s slower than the winner of my heat. :okay:

Yes big field over 300 . The ride split on the climb but it was so strung out I didn't see the split go went over the top in a group of 20+ we picked a few up then a big blob caught us and 100+ in the group on the flats so pace was high all the way

I'll be doing that as well - 3 laps of Innsbruckring. And with the lower categories going first and all riders visible, if you join you can wave as you go past me and Joffey!
Well that's the third Burning Legs League race I've done and I've somehow managed to finish 17th each and every time! (out of 28, 30 and 26 respectively)

Got dropped completely on the Leg Snapper despite being 3 seconds faster than my previous best time up there, but caught up with some of the other dropped riders after the sprint and mopped up some D's as well (who started two minutes ahead of us) to form a sizeable pack.

Then on the second lap the B's overtook us and I was one of only four C's who was able to bridge and hang on to them until the next climb, which certainly helped with our speed on the flat. Eventually on the third lap I caught up with @Joffey who as lead D probably wasn't too happy that our group had brought his two main rivals back to him!

At the end we had quite a motley crew of B stragglers, second pack C's and the front of the D race all working together, which was kind of weird but it worked. Both me and Joff won our respective sprints to the line; his for first, mine for 16th (one guy behind me had got more sprint points, so overtook me in the standings).

It's a funny old series. The stronger D riders like the mixed cats as we can jump on the B or C train for a bit and gap our rivals but the other riders just get left stranded.

Our race was weird - after a quickish start we just cruised to the Leg Snapper. I was in the bunch doing 100 watts on the lead up which helped me get my best ever 1 min power (542w) up the Leg Snapper on Lap 1. Weirdly I was only 2 seconds off my PB that I did in C  - that pretty much secured me the sprint too as the other guys couldn't catch me. Then I just rested and let them catch up. Wrinse and repeat for 3 laps.

I was proper goosed on the final climb though!! I forgot how good that course is for totally smashing up the race. Despite being on my limit on each ascent I quite enjoyed it! Was also great to be on course with you Steve - just like old times!

I ended up getting the win and that will keep me at the top of the league table with me having done 4 events with a 2nd and three 1st places. I am quite enjoying being fat

Itā€™s only just in the early stages of testing. Thereā€™s been two ā€™ride with jamesā€™ events and last weekendā€™s tiny races so far.
Some people hated it, others found it weird. There was talk of an enhanced slingshot effect. Others said they got no draft near the back. But pretty much everyone agreed it wasnā€™t done yet.

I had a very odd experience in race 2, getting left further and further behind on the downhill, but then clawing my way back from 98th to the front in 1km (2 to 3) then getting in a small breakaway for 7th. It's hard to tell if this was the "enhanced slingshot" or the advantage of a gravel bike on dirt that enabled this to happen.

There are more test events coming up. List at the top of this thread.
