It was tough, but oddly quite satisfying......

Until the last climb

As expected I was left quite way down the pack going up Petite. But on the flat I was picking off riders regularly. I must have passed 20 riders. I noticed my 2.8W/kg would outgun a 3.2W lighter rider on the flat. I knew that those lighter riders in my category that I passed in the last 5 miles would come back at me on the climb . They did, so I lost 5 or so places. I was praying for the switchbacks to end.

Out of practice for going deep and holding that pace, satisfied with effort

Don't think I'll get a chance unfortunately. Great efforts from those of you who have done pretty much every day

strangely enjoyed it , had someone I was trying to keep in front of and was determined to gain a second every mile so was pushing all the way - didn't know there was a hill at the end ! really should pay more attention to the courses

At this point 3km from the end Rob Bane was 30s ahead of me. He finished 32s behind. Still a crap time, but we have to take what we can get
