And so it starts again. Off to TT at 10. Going to see if I can hold 210W average for the duration. (Mr boring ^_^)

I'll say good luck now, wont see your ride live :okay:

59:47 bit slower than I thought I'd be, but then maybe some fatigue in the legs. Only averaged 194W which was 16 below target. Although the target was based on 53 minute power  For 59 minute power it was only 3W below my best
Most of it was a slog, but I came alive on the final climb and passed several of the buggers who'd passed me earlier

I used to like TT. I think I'm a convert to 'proper' races now. I missed my drafting.

This course finishes a couple of hundred metres after the KoM arch.

I'm the same Alex - used to think of TT type efforts as my strength, but now I think I'm much better at races with intermediate sprints or punchy climbs it seems - I blame the ZRL!

Not sure I can face another hour long TT tonight!

The hour long climbs in stage 2 and coming up in stage 7 have to be ridden effectively like ITT too as there's hardly any draft on those steep slopes.

Trying to think of a valid excuse (not easy with Tommy around I know) but it might just have to be :surrender:

I don't mind a TT, but definitely not a fan.

Thanks for the tip on where the finishing banner is, Alex.

I'm completely shot today but passed the point where I actually care about how tired I feel. Yesterday was bad as well - before any activity, then during warm-up. Body was just telling me 'Nope. Not doing it'. Then a few seconds before the start, when I ramped up the power, it changed to 'Feck. I guess we are doing it'.

That was my main reason for skipping the first few. Didn't think it would be wise for me to attempt them all and I had other stuff to finish. Those first three stages looked long and tiring.

Looking at yesterday's results though, it looks like it might be better to switch to the 1800 event which had 261 people in, rather than the 81 in the 1000 event. I'm hoping that was part of the reason for my crap time  I do prefer mornings though, but then you have to sit and watch yourself slide down the rankings

if I knew we were just doing the odd one here and there I would have tried last night ! ^_^

I was completely on the defensive last night - it was a battle for survival through each of the sprint/KOM segments and a desperate attempt to remain in the front group. The finish was weird wasn't it? It came very shortly after the Aqueduc KOM climb which was an FTS segment, but after a downhill which you could supertuck on - so after burying myself up the KOM I virtually free-wheeled to the finish line which is a first!

I attacked on the last KOM and then supertucked too. Last 300m was basically freewheeling as well - couldn't find it in me to push.

It was tough, but oddly quite satisfying......

Until the last climb :B)

As expected I was left quite way down the pack going up Petite. But on the flat I was picking off riders regularly. I must have passed 20 riders. I noticed my 2.8W/kg would outgun a 3.2W lighter rider on the flat. I knew that those lighter riders in my category that I passed in the last 5 miles would come back at me on the climb . They did, so I lost 5 or so places. I was praying for the switchbacks to end.

Out of practice for going deep and holding that pace, satisfied with effort
