How do other race series handle the primes etc?

Wasn't there a DIRT series over the summer? Did they do it differently? Did it work?

I'm not sure I've ever ridden another race series with primes except WTRL (I could be wrong, memory fading). I'm sure the series we used to ride were straight finish points only.

I'd need to look at the upcoming DBR series to see if they use primes ....

Below are the details of the upcoming DBR race series. No primes, finish place points only. So anyone prefer to race without primes distorting the finish places then this league is probably for you .. starts 31st October.

Your typical Zwift ... sit in the pack until the final sprint for glory kind of race, if that's your thing :okay:

Its time again for a [DBR] Cup. Starting the 31st of October.
6 fast and hard placed races without any prime points.
Will you dare to attack early, or just sit with the front to the sprint? Do your team have any tactics ready?
Stages:
Stage 1: 31st Oct, Figure 8
Stage 2: 7th Nov, Two Bridges Loop - 5 Laps
Stage 3: 14th Nov, Royal Pumproom 8
Stage 4: 21st Nov, Three Village Loop - 3Laps
Stage 5: 28th Nov, London Loop - 2 Laps
Stage 6: 5th Dec, InnsbruckRing - 4 Laps
*individual stage route, distance and elevation may be subject to change.
Points:
Individual and Team League Points details:
The winner of each race will get 60 league points.
The best 6 placed riders per team, will count toward the League Team Standings.
League Points: 60, 57, 55, 53, 52, 51,... down to 1 point.
Team Points: 60, 57, 55, 53, 52, 51,... down to 1 point.

You do over 400w for a minute at the start of a ZRL race?

I think I might have done on the Champs ZRL stage a couple of weeks ago - my 1 min power was 447 watts and I only really dug in at the start until I was dropped. I don't need to do it in Cat D mind!! ^_^

It's not a weekly occurrence though, I give you that!! 👍

My ZP power profile has me 501W for 1 minute, so I must be doing it somewhere, usually at the starts

Yours Paul is 628W for a minute, very impressive :notworthy:

We have almost identical 30s power, but you still have it by a handful of Watts ;)

Are there races thoughout the day tomorrow? I’m struggling to find the schedule now… who’s racing when? Ideally there’s one in the afternoon 🤞

I seem to remember doing Bologna x 2 before but I can’t remember if it was a TT. Definitely a good work out!

1000, 1215, 1930, 0030, 0300 (althought they're labelled as UTC time, the times I've given are our time)

One of the Racing Without Borders leagues we did a few years back did do Primes with bonus points as well as finishing positions, but the difference there was that they picked a particular sprint or climb each week and that was the ONLY one that got points. Sometimes that meant on a multi-lap race, you could tell who had read the race description by seeing who went for the sprint on a lap where it didn't count.

I think other than that they did use the same points breakdowns as WTRL (why invent a new system if people are already familiar with one) but with less prime points it meant finish line points meant a lot more.

I remember laughing when we got to the start/finish banner at the Champs Elysees. Someone sprinted for it on the first lap
