Did a TT last night on Tempus Fugit; got my highest 20-min W/kg since last November (only 297W/74kg ~ 4.0W/kg, but heading in the right direction). Funny how the first 6 or 7 minutes of a TT always seem really easy but then it begins to bite! :heat:
19W and 41s better than my last attempt at a TF TT back in March.

I raced my arse off last night and when saving my ride thought I might get a new FTP or an 'Almost C' on ZP:

Alas not. Despite beating 2nd place in D by 6 minutes I was no where near a power improvement or an upgrade  I suppose that course isn't suited for prolonged efforts so I was kidding myself. One sprint then plod round.

I thought I might get close on Tuesday when racing in C:

But again, nowhere near

It's a funny old world. Maybe one day when I knock the pizza and beers on the head I might get close... which will have to be soon as my winter coat doesn't fit

The weight is factor, but visceral fat being a big hinderance. When in the riding position, lower organs with visceral fat impede breathing deeply. Once my weight started to come off, my breathing capacity seem to increase, could be all anecdotal, but its what I found.

For me the asthma is obviously as much a factor on my breathing as anything. As anyone on discord heard Tuesday, I was having a smidge of an asthma attack at the end, as I do most weeks and most races.

So have to be careful in races not to push myself too hard and promote to B have a major asthma attack.

You're controlling your Asthma very well Carl

I wish my asthma would return so I could get some steriods ;)

We had to give some steroid treatment for the old dog- he was like he was 2 year old whilst on the treatment

10.12 Alex. I much prefer morning events

Definitely. If ZRL could be morning that would be ideal for me as doesn't then affect the night.
1012 would have been my first choice slot but I've got to go to do some other stuff first. Have a good one. Will be interested in how you get on with Sauce.

I've tried every inhaler and tablet available ... but my new one seems to be working really well - Spiriva - I still get the attacks on massive efforts but nowhere near what it was like. Get less when riding hills outside too ... the Fostair I was on didn't help at all even at max dose. I still take the Montelukast but not sure how effective that is.
