Talking about Tragic Gimps I have just entered the 7pm RWB race on Friday night. One of the guys who beat me in the TT who was an 'almost C' rode round at 2.7w/kg and got himself upgraded to C last Friday. He's entered the D race for this Friday now

Now maybe Cat Enforcement allows him to remain in D but won't ZP DQ him out? It says ZADA limits apply... not sure what they are though. I'll be writing a strongly worded Facebook post if the gimp beats me :boxing:

And if he's allowed to compete it seems a bit weird that on ZP you will have Cat C's coming ahead of Cat D's in the ZP D Cat section.

What a minefield.

It even filters him as in the wrong Cat. So will he get DQ or not?

TBH I don't care - with my superior race craft I am sure to beat him up the climb despite him having 30kg on me

No. We've had this in the Tiny Races. Chap called Bob Howe raced 2 weeks ago in C, but was a B on ZP. The two systems overlap, but since they're not the same it's possible to be a B in one and not the other. Happily though, having called Carl a sandbagger last week, he raced B this week, so it must have finally caught up with him.

Cat enforcement is based on slightly different criteria. If a race is cat enforcement, they don't use ZP criteria for DQs.

It's Tiny Races day anyway. I'll have to choose between them (and club ride outside)

I'll have to see then ..... but I'd have to go Tiny races over a TT up that bloody hill ... twice :B):surrender:

Although, saying that, I barely post D numbers up that hill and on TTs in general, so could be a way to get regraded as a D racer on the GC

It's a shame it's not a flat race or I might have beat him. I'll just call him out if he wins  GIMP!!

Just saw this article pop up, haven't read it through yet.

Read it last night. Looked interesting but haven’t signed up for the test race on Weds as I’m still digesting the idea of the flamme rouge 😀

Just for curious. Lot of you are racing on Zwift but how many of you are racing also real outdoor competitions as well?. If your not then why not, too big risk for accidents or something else?-

I do the occasional TT on a closed circuit. For me, the idea of racing on roads is not at all appealing due to the risk of a bad accident. I have done a few Cx races over the summer though. That was fun. Slow speeds, soft ground, and no traffic though. ^_^
