Hahaha. I've only started cycling and I'm already a dinosaur with my mechanical shifting and rim brakes  Sticking to that for now as I like things I can fix myself ;)

Rim brakes gives advantage in ascents, some pro riders ride with bike with rim brakes. It's a weight weenies and it make you climb faster...in a theory.

New 105 12 Speed WIRELESS Di2 announced...

Pretty cheap all things considered!

That's more than I paid for my Roubaix brand new in 2019. i'm not quite as much of a dinosaur as Peter, I like my disc brakes, but nearly 2 grand for electronic gears? I think I'll wait until I want to splash out on a top-notch bike - hopefully in a couple of years when all the shortages are ancient history and there are some proper deals to be had again.

It make's me think how much cheaper that groupset is if you buy a new bike with that groupset, compared to buy that separately.

I’m not sure it’d be cheaper on a complete build. In my experience anyway it’s been cheaper to buy parts individually. That price will go down because few bike parts are sold at RRP a few months after release. But I don’t think generally prices of bike kit are going down substantially for the foreseeable. In my opinion anyway.

I got my first A category podium today. Probably best not to dwell on exactly how many people were in the race 😌

That’s the worst thing about A cat so far that I’ve found. I don’t really mind being an also ran. But it’s tough to find well populated races. Maybe it’s a reflection on the time of year too.

Well done. The irony there is that you'd have been 5th in the Bs with that time. I've noticed the same with the "silly short" races I do. Got 4th in Cat A on this one but would have been 11th in B and wouldn't even have won C either.
