@Whorty ....... Cheddar Gorge isn’t as bad as the graphic depicted by Komoot.
Yes it does climb, but apart from one steep bend it’s fairly gradual and gets easier the higher you get !
Living in Bristol the Mendips are a popular destination and several Audaxes cross them with The Tasty Cheddar 100K being the most popular, it’s a pan flat 50K ride out of Bristol, then tackles the Gorge & the climb up to Hinton Blewitt, before returning to the Harbourside.

@bridgy mentioned Burrington Coombe is another great climb and is used for the Bristol South CC Hill Climb event every Autumn, in normal times a very colourful and noisy event, its probably my favourite Hill Climb in the region.
