Of all the 50 odd riders behind you at that point, seems a bit harsh of the chap to single you out
What did it cost you @<Tommy> ? 10 Euro and a packet of cigarettes?

Joined the 11:45 Crit race today if anyone fancies a blast. I'm in C, but if some B's fancy a ride I can switch up and keep you company for the first 100 yards

Edit: wonder if I can push B numbers and get myself promoted?

I’ve been thinking about the elevator trick a little since learning about it. What do we think of the ethics of springing up the elevator at unrealistic watts compared with the saw tooth technique to achieve unrealistic watts during a race?

I struggle to see the difference but the elevator trick seems to have been embraced here while saw tooth is frowned upon to say the least?

Discuss?

You must be very bored!

I suppose the obvious easy answer is that one is banned and the other isn’t. But going beyond that, it isn’t cheating. You could argue it’s gaming the system. But is choosing when to accelerate on any hill to get optimal speed gaming of the system? The hills and momentum on zwift are somewhat different to real cycling. The elevator is just an exaggerated example of that (in my humble opnion...)

I think that is the line I draw between the two.

Also as a side note. The saw tooth is easy to notice and to enforce. It’s impossible to enforce a similar rule on a stretch like the elevator.

What's the elevator trick?

I just hit it as hard as I can and try to hold the watts until I'm on the flat at the top. Is there a different way to do that climb?
