I can lose a kg easy in a hard ride, and this coming race is going to be very hard ... so seems legit I weigh myself afterwards and I'm then allowed to drop my zwift weight by another kgI think the verification is good for the league but a couple of small issues for me personally:
1. WTRL’s post says that rider weight should include bib shorts and cycle jersey. I weigh myself regularly, but usually in the nude. Will do a weight with bibs and jersey this weekend to make sure I’m accurate.
2. I’ve never actually measured my height! My height is a guesstimate converted from 5’ 10” so need to get a height measurement done this weekend too!
I don’t really like the fact that they want the weight within 12 hours either side of the event, for a couple of reasons:
Firstly - I think the weight verification should always be before the race (to encourage good practice from racers to weigh in and update before the event)
Secondly - 12 hours seems quite tight. This is a community event, and people have lives outside of all this so could find it difficult to do a verification on the same day as the race. To me, within a few days seems reasonable for a community event. For a premier division I’d expect them to do weigh ins immediately before the race tbh
Because WTRL are accepting weigh ins within 12 hours either side of the event, presumably they are permitting a margin of error? I’d prefer to see them insist that the weigh in is before the event and that the weight value in Zwift must exactly match the weigh in...
Only joking Bob .... I won't do that
