I think the verification is good for the league but a couple of small issues for me personally:

1. WTRL’s post says that rider weight should include bib shorts and cycle jersey. I weigh myself regularly, but usually in the nude. Will do a weight with bibs and jersey this weekend to make sure I’m accurate.

2. I’ve never actually measured my height! My height is a guesstimate converted from 5’ 10” so need to get a height measurement done this weekend too!

I don’t really like the fact that they want the weight within 12 hours either side of the event, for a couple of reasons:

Firstly - I think the weight verification should always be before the race (to encourage good practice from racers to weigh in and update before the event)

Secondly - 12 hours seems quite tight. This is a community event, and people have lives outside of all this so could find it difficult to do a verification on the same day as the race. To me, within a few days seems reasonable for a community event. For a premier division I’d expect them to do weigh ins immediately before the race tbh

Because WTRL are accepting weigh ins within 12 hours either side of the event, presumably they are permitting a margin of error? I’d prefer to see them insist that the weigh in is before the event and that the weight value in Zwift must exactly match the weigh in...
I can lose a kg easy in a hard ride, and this coming race is going to be very hard ... so seems legit I weigh myself afterwards and I'm then allowed to drop my zwift weight by another kg :wahhey:

Only joking Bob .... I won't do that ;)

😁

strange they allow a post ride weigh in. Easy to lose a kilo or more win a ride. But as others have said they are not concerned about the odd kilo but the 4/5 kilos or more.

re height I was measured at a lower height by a nurse when I had a lung capacity test than when my partner measured me. 2cm difference 🙄 I chose the taller 😁

As I've been losing weight recently, I've updated Zwift. But now, looking at ZwiftPower, it looks like they may query it as the new weight is highlighted in red - it's only 2 kg difference! Perhaps it's the amount of time in which I lost it? I've weighed myself today and have dropped another kilo to 84 kg, but I'm thinking not to update my profile until the race series is done.

I think extremes of any measurement are in red on zwiftpower- so your heaviest weight and your lightest weight -ive certainly seen it before.

I'm sure there will be some margin for error (hugely variable over the course of a day) but doubt they'll publish it for fear of people gaming it. I haven't had an email so far about it for our team so no need to order that home sauna yet!

How do you do a height verification?

And how does Tommy prove he is 5 foot 3? ^_^

I suppose if we’re all going to start playing by the rules I should probably stand up when I’m measuring myself from now on
