(Well done mate 🙌)
The IRL races are riddled with cheats and fraud. It’s a well known problem. @mjd1988 is the true winner if you look at the actual rider performances rather than the fake league results. The IRL league results are the fakeliest.
I hear you won bigly!A lot of my sprints where postal sprints so they arrived a few days after the other riders - shouldn't they count just as much #fakenews
Good going Ian. The Cat B race was tough one...almost 150 riders on the start line. I had planned just to sit in expecting a big peleton to go all the way to The finish but it turned out to be a high pace the whole way with my heart rate in zone 4 and 5 for the full 30+ minutes. I held onto a lead group and a split happened on the aqueduct with 30 of us getting away but I didn’t have the legs for a sprint as the finish was monstermegalicious flat out. 25th in the end.First round of the Cycling Ireland Zwift League this morning on the R.G.V. course, chatted briefly with @IrishAl before the race, he was in the Cat. B race.
I started well and was in the second group on the road, kept with them until the Aquaduct KOM when to my amazement I managed to pull ahead of the group ( previously ridden it with CC#68 on the TTT so I knew it wasn't that long ) even managed to PB it on Strava so well happy with that, however as in the TTT a few weeks ago my legs when on the little undulating section towards the end ( @IrishAl - it must have been that rum 🥃 🤣 ).
All told I'm happy with my performance just need to push that little bit harder towards the end - looking forward to the rest of the series 👍
EDIT : Just looked on ZP and I did the Aquaduct KOM in 47:97 at 290W = 3.6 w/kg 😁

8am start is keen! I did an insanity “back to core” workout this morning so no appetite for a ride tonight but might do a light 4x6min sweet spot watching mandalorian tomorrow evening.
Does anyone here have experience trying to follow a coaching / workout plan, and still fit in one or 2 races per week? At the minute I feel like I’m not progressing.,,going backwards if anything. I think I’ve been racing steadily on Zwift for at least 12 months now even through the summer. Most plans that I’ve seen have at least one work out a week with a lot of threshold work, and another pushing the 5 minute over threshold. I, not sure I’d cope witj that plus a race. Also i dont really want to not race either, so maybe I’m caught both ways And need to decide between training and racing. Those insanity workouts look bonkers- you enjoy them?
