Looking good in Cat. D too...
Watch out for the Wild Boar 🐗... 😉
Went camping there couple of years ago, lovely area, good MTB centre there ( cafe is great ), Verderers is a good trail 👍
We were down there last year and had a great time , included kayaking down the river Wye and an evening at Chepstow races .
Did a workout on that route today ... I forgot how hard it is Sprint is about 28 mins in, Volcano climb 4-5 mins later. Then the blinkin' KoM reverse which is actually quite flat apart from the kicker early on that will almost certainly show race the favourite! I averaged 209 watts (2.8 w/kg) and it took 1:09 .... with drafting and a bit more power I should get closer to my PB of 1:06. You B's may break 60 minutes

The key I think will be to be with at least one other rider to share the pulling as riding alone could lose a lot of time.
Rest day tomorrow I think
Hey @IrishAl @<Tommy>Strava not playing ball. No one listed when I view Cyclechat club leaderboard, so best alternative is riders I am following, For some reason you’re not showing up @carl (46:38) View attachment 537468
So far only on BKOOL. On every ride so far 33 more watts From the same rides last week. BKOOL had changed their algorithm on their trainers for heavy rides like me - it cut power and cadence. So even though it’s overkill for a rider of my caliber I’m loving the NEO. I’ll try Zwift and Big ring.@Randyberlin so how are you finding the neo ? what about watts ? have you used it on zwift or bkool ? View attachment 537918
Good time Del especially going at it solo. It’s never easy going off on your own. The added pressure of chasing down and/or being chased down gives you another level.
Hey @JuhaL have you cancelled your Zwift subscription for the summer?I haven’t ride for a few days because of hip buritis so no issues in here.
That is certainly a risk for me ... the heavier stronger riders put the pressure on on the fuego flats. If I can make it in the lead group by the climb out of the flats I'll be happy.Flip, didn't realise how far the first sprint was from the start. Assuming the climbers do show up may be worth trying to breakaway on the flat before the sprint if anyone fancies it as we don't really have any out and out climbers (that aren't currently in the a's) @IrishAl is best placed to choose strategy if you fancy trying anything tactical? Otherwise default #hangonbyfingernailsaslongaspossibleplan
I’m not so sure, I think they will be marking you as one to watch. Come the climb you will be able to crank it up and put the pressure on them and do the same on the second climb. Hoping to watch on fan view!Damn, forgot about that 😢 I'll have to work really hard to hang on through the firs 10km or so of flats - this is where the big boys need to be dropping the lighter chaps! If I can stay in the blob to the climb out of the flats I'll be feeling positive I think ... but it's gonna be hard for a low watt producing rider like me
well done Del - it is a lot different riding on your own , i was riding constantly looking at the times of the people infront and behind while trying not to blow up , got to be a lot harder when you have no one to pace with
