have you been listening to Tommy ? no good will come of it you knowSome people had asked for a flatter route, so how about 2 laps of Tick Tock?
Good suggestions for the course Del. Given the ‘problems‘ we run into with late changes to ttt line ups ....Hows about a handicapped race? We could try and work out rough handicaps based on rider FTP. I did think of using the cyclechat times on the storage segment but they look like they are badly affected if ride has been done in a raceJust been looking at routes for our next Meet Up.
Some people had asked for a flatter route, so how about 2 laps of Tick Tock? Out across the desert, then over the small climb down across the bridge and right turn back towards Ocean Boulevard before turning back on the desert.
2 laps would come in at 20.8miles/33.6kms, so probably about 50-55 minutes with drafting on a flat course. And there's a Strava segment to help sort out handicaps and any close finishes.
Also, do we want to stick with the TTT/Hare and Hounds format? I like it, but we could try out a different format, such as an individual handicap or an individual handicap with TT bikes to stop any drafting. Or any other format you can think of?
Thoughts?
Where did you get this from? World hack?
Could be worth doing an iTT initially (TT bikes and no drafting) with all starting together and this can then set the handicap times for future races.Good suggestions for the course Del. for instance my pb in the last year is 21.55 compared to Tommy at 24.07 so those times wouldn’t make a fair handicap. Any other way to set times?
I think this is a good idea - use it as a benchmark but also a good bit of competition 👍Could be worth doing an iTT initially (TT bikes and no drafting) with all starting together and this can then set the handicap times for future races.
I haven’t seen full details yet but hoping to get involved with the virtual TdF. I think there are pro teams doing a stage then events scheduled on the same route afterwards for other riders?
If enough of us are doing it we could use it as a mini-league??
Don't know if any of you guys read Cycling Weekly, but there is a great article this week on Zwift racing, specifically why the Pros struggle against the top Zwifters. Interesting read and certainly some tips and tricks in there

One more thing here!I think this is a good idea.
So, a 2 lap ITT to set a benchmark. Let's do it on TT bikes, so no drafting to give us accurate timings. Then the next race we can decide on ITT handicap or TTT handicap.
Next up should be a Friday followed by a Wednesday. Keeping it to every 2 weeks would be July 10 then July 22.
