Two D's and a C versus the rest of the Cyclechat (pain) train. It was never going to end well.

About halfway through my legs just wouldn't respond any longer and that led to me starting to lose concentration as well. For example I honestly can only remember two teams overtaking us (A's and whoever it was in green), but all three definitely must have at some point.

Strange how it went tonight. In fairness the man down cost those teams of 3 but we won’t say too much about the - Get in there A’s! Woohoo!
The track stands on the finish line banner Nearly cost us but all was in jest. Once we had line of sight to the Ds we could afford to ease back a bit and but we kept motoring to the esses before Berty took off like a man possessed the Bridgy went over the top as if he was late for his dinner.
Well done all in that heat.
Different course next time?

Okay so logging out of the app fixed it. You have to accept a meet up before you boot it up apparently.

Congrats A team. D unlucky on the drop out

I think we rode pretty well as a team.

I noticed that the a's relaxed a bit. Was that just to taunt us or to make sure the handicap doesn't change :reading:

To be fair to you guys you seem very well drilled!

I think in hindsight we went out too hard. By the time we got to you guys I felt pretty flat. Funnily enough I actually felt really good when I was warming up. But the heat must of taken its toll I think. When we got within reach of the D’s we were all happy to ease off a bit.

I think everyone did well just to get round to be fair. That was pretty horrendous wasn’t it? 😄

Well done all. Especially @bobinski and @Norry1 - apologies, I think something went wrong with discord and I couldn’t hear either of you!

well done for dragging us around. Headphones went flat for me, but I was too busy melting into a puddle on the floor to talk anyway. Heat took its toll on times. Seriously, well done all for joining in and getting round. I can recommend a post ride lager👌

I melted about 10 miles in to the race ,the heat was unbearable, and with my fan been on the wall high up all it was doing was blowing warm air over me 🤬🤬🤬🤬. New fan to be placed a t floor level pointing up ,

well done all that raced , I had a nice piece of cake and cream after and Christine had put some cider in the fridge for me 🍻

That was hot. 2 fans running and the garage door open but still like an oven.

Thanks to the guys in C. We rode tidily. I must remember to concentrate when I'm in the super tuck and start pedalling again before its too late!

Brendan and I spent some of the time discussing how bloody hard the TTT is going to be tomorrow night in this heat.

I think @IrishAl 's suggestion to swap to a new course is a good one. I'll take a look but anyone is welcome to suggest a course.

Must admit to having all fans going and windows open 20 mins before I got on bike and for the first time ever I had soaked A towel in cold water , put it over shoulders and instead of drinking water I kept pouring it on towel worked well but scary with electrics everywhere

Advice from today's Guardian...

Don’t buy a fan

I bought a fan for my office during the last heatwave, and it’s rubbish. All it does is push hot air around, which helps nobody. If you do buy a fan, freeze a two-litre bottle of water and place it between the fan and you, which should help to cool the air.

Gonna try it on tomorrow's Zwift ride... 😉
