All done and not just by us. W***ers.

Anyone racing over the weekend?
How about this, he says acting as a WTRL salesman.

I know there's a few people on here who like Crit Races. WTRL are starting a series of 6 Crit races tomorrow on different courses, although tomorrow's is on the Bell Crit course. Future courses include the Yorkshire crit course and others.

I'm signed up tomorrow at 13.45. Be good to see a few of you guys join up!

I was thinking one of these- choice of two with climbs of different severity and a flat one but with the leg snapper for fun 😁

Del’s also a possible 👍

Bike back home. Hoping to do a gentle ride later to test it out
I lied, despite having tired legs I did a race instead :banghead: Came last in B (would have been 12th in C). Pedaling was smooth and the 'clunking' on the BB has stopped :wahhey: Gears slipping a bit when in middle of cassette so I need to have a little fettle to get them working correctly.

Once everything bedded in and legs are fresh I'll do a ramp test to see where I am this month.

Now little gear ring working I'm considering using BRVR or Fulgaz to do some pootles on some climbs and rolling video courses as these really helped my fitness last year and helped me shed some weight.

Nuts, I thought the team race was today, not the upcoming Wed. Oh well.

So as I noted late last week, I'm racing C for the flatter/shorter races now. Monday wife came in about 5 minutes into the race and i lost the lead group as I was gasping for air while trying to talk. Finished at the rear of the 2nd pack. At it again Thursday where I stuck with the lead pack for 3 laps I think -- it was a bigger field and I ultimately finished at the back of the 3rd pack for another overall mid-field finish. And finally today. Another small field, but held onto the lead back through the entire race, but had zip left in the tank for the sprint. So last in the lead pack, but just a second or so off the podium. These are all 8 lap crit city races, so no doubt I'd be left behind on anything longer. Overally happy as I can get a solid workout even though I'm sucking wheels. With the right circumstances I can reasonably expect to be competitive for the podium from time to time.

I seen a comment on the team irl FB page that there would be another league directly after the current one (6th july, Mondays)

@IrishAl any word? I think Monday league's seem to suit most people best so could be one to target from the start?

yes buddy. We will be straight into another 6 round league. Best of 5 results to count. Courses aren’t selected yet but we are thinking flat - hilly - flat - hilly - flat - ITT. get your preferences in as I know a man who has influence 😀

PSBR messing with our team and being asked to back off not just by us but another team behind. One was really strong and would drag his team back into ya and then they would struggle to stay.
I could deny knowing them but actually I do know a few - Mr McKenny is a personal friend who I lived 2 minutes from Until 2 years ago. The PSBR lads formed their own teams and but should be racing now in the ttt for maybe 2 months so they should know the rules.
There is something in the rules that if you over take but can’t get away (having been afforded a sufficient gap) and are subsequently overtaken by team behind that you have to sit it out behind and cannot keep overtaking one another

Recording of today's Flat volcano race if anyone interested. I would suggest @IrishAl might like to see his victory but alas I lost his wheel quite early on (I think it was as we left the pens  )

Legs were tired going into this race - I was only planning a gentle spin today - so didn't really have it in me to race today. Used it more to test out the bike and see what I need to tweak (middle gears slipping!).

Def like to see an ITT with no drafting :okay: Very few races of this style and it really does sort the wheelsuckers out

Got some suggestions for the ITT stage.

For a 10 mile route, my road club has used both 2 laps of Innsbruckring and also 1 lap of Richmond UCI - both are really good with a fast, flat section and then a hilly section that breaks things up, but quite differently - mid race for Innsbruck and in the run-in for Richmond.

A slight wild card, but also one I really liked was used by WTRL in their last ITT series. The Sand and Sequoias route, going out fast across the desert, and then taking you back to the start via the National Park KoM. So fast and flat, a steady climb and then a descent with a couple of little punchy climbs. I was surprised how much I enjoyed that course for an ITT.

Good suggestions for the iTT. Too many just use Bologna or Tempus Fugit so it will be nice to add something different. There is chat about having intermediate primes for bonus points - something which I am sure will spice it up a bit And liven up some of the Flatter courses where the racing can be quite dull.

From your experience of the DBR series I recall they had intermediate sprint and KOM primes. Did they run a separate KOM competition ? Or did the points all add up for overall league. We should also add a club element to it as well.

Hi alan. For what it’s worth I’ll join the next league from the start. It sounds like a nice balance on paper which is always a good start. Can I suggest Surrey hills as a possible course? It never seems to get picked for races but it’s pretty brutal. Yorkshire is similar.

Regarding the points / prime system is it possible to keep it separate?
