Enjoyment is the key but I must confess that I was an only D member in the hare and hounds here for quite some time and to be honest it was soul destroying.
It’s great to see Tim & Joffey to come in and show so much Enthusiasm with the racing and getting faster with your help and encouragement I might add.
Think of yourself as the Mr Miyagi of the D group.
Anyway it’s never too late to improve but as a matter of interest how old are you, I’m 55 and any improvement for me has been very slow compared to the young guns.
:okay:
Not often I get called a young gun!! 40 in a few weeks......

@steverob you are a font of knowledge for us beginners:reading:

Another interesting race. Brilliant results for @Alongo and @BurningLegs I didn't have the legs to stay with the lead group. Not a bad finish for Team B CCers with 3 in the top 10

and we nearly caught the second place team

Vid is here: I've not looked at it yet - so apologies if needed

Just think that if we hadn't had that week with the Virgin Media Internet failure that took 3 of us out, we would have probably finished second!

OK. The final scores are in from the CycleChat DBR league. Big drum roll please........

@Alongo takes the honours! :notworthy: A final stage victory on the dirt, takes him to the top, with four 1st places and two 2nd places amassing him 140 points. Martin and Legs are close behind and make up the podium.

A scan down the table shows what good improvements have been made recently by a number of CC'ers, with the likes of Nick, Del etc more than holding their own after recent cat upgrades, and others being upgraded during the league (Ketty, Marino). Well done all! :bravo:

An odd race for me last night. I was feeling good in the lead group, but when I tried to have a dig at the end of the first lap it wasn't there and I ended up slipping back on the incline that followed. It was then a case of trying to keep it together until the end, playing the hare to a group behind (including Adam and Steen) on the final lap, before getting caught metres from the line :cursing:.

Well done all, and thanks for maintaining the CC league @peterob

Is there a shortlist of upcoming leagues to consider for the future? My wife and I are expecting our second child in early August so I won't be able to commit to finishing a league beyond the middle of July but will join any stages I can (should be no issues in the next month).

I've been taking a look at the leagues on Zwiftpower and on the Zwift Racers Facebook site but nothing seems to be starting about now.

So, some options:

1. @IrishAl 's Racing without Borders league has 3 weeks to run out of 6. We could join for the last 3. Pro is it helps out a friend, con is it's half way through but it gives us something to do as a team and we will get ranked. And it fills a gap until an alternative appears

2. We could just pick random races on a Monday or Tuesday night and sign up en masse.

3. Organise our own race through a Meet Up. Could be a straight race or handicap?

I think I'd prefer option 1, but how do others feel?

I'm good with 1 or 2 ... def have a preference for riding as a team rather than race each other :okay:

I'm happy with option 1 or 2. Think my preference would be Option 2 - can mix up the parcour a little. About time we all scaled the radio tower I think

Would have said Option 3 if Zwift hadn't pulled the version of companion app which makes private meetups almost fully fledged races!

I would vote for option 1. I've been looking at it a fair bit and it looks like a good big competitive field, and keen to support the series.

I'm actively keeping an eye out for future series happening in the next few months as I really like the league format (maybe I won't if/when I'm propping up b league)

1 or 2 for me happy to go with majority. Have we got a view of the final three races for option 1 (time/date etc)?

Updated the rider list and teams for Friday as @<Tommy> and @Add have said they're now available.

I've moved @Ketty back into D as we've now got 21 riders. One team has to have 6, so I thought it was fairer to give D the 1 man advantage.

I hope this will be the final line up, unless I hear otherwise. Haven't heard from @bridgy (hoping he's ok?) @Breedon or @LeetleGreyCells

Del I’m still an undecided. It’ll probably depend on whether I receive the tool I need to repair my turbo by Friday. I’ll message bridgy.

Another question which I’m sure has been discussed before me joining - how do we go about getting our own CC team jersey in Zwift?
