Something for the whipper snappers to aim for;)

I’ve tried many times but he’s such a small target!

Finally got around to starting work on converting our '88 vintage Dawes Super Galaxy Twin to flat bars ... Decided that in order to maintain the "traditional" look I will fit that most quintessential of British Products The Brooks B17s Imperial saddle(s). Is there anything else in the cycling world that has remained unchanged in 138 years of production?? History, Tradition, just quintessential "Britishness"

So placed the order with Brooks of England - B1886 web site, and the saddles will be in my hands tomorrow ... Having started their trip in Verona, then Venice, Leipzig, East Mids, and finally Manchester! ... That's a better European tour than I can do at the moment :cursing::cursing:

So, Brooks of England ... Made by Vittoria of Italy :eek::cursing::cursing:

i would give you a write up about my epic climb to the top but i am afraid it might spoil the sales of the autobiography
^_^
BUT - i am willing to give a little spoiler about last nights race
i sucked !
not very nice to leave the start gate at full speed and see an army of competitors surge away like ive still got the handbrake on !
- need a mixed cat race to give me a chance to get used to it rather than ride on my own
might leave that one out the book
also there is someone here writing himself out of the acknowledgements ^_^

Not manufacturing anything ourselves is unfortunately the new ‘quintessential Britishness ’ isn’t it? ☹

Needless to say I bet they’re still beautifully crafted. I have a swift that I just brushed the dust off after reading your post. Unfortunately it doesn’t really sit right on modern carbon contraptions. But if there’s a comfier brand of saddle out there I’m yet to find it! Breaking a brooks saddle in is a bit of a right of passage isn’t it!

by the way - when the book is the huge success that its expected to be , there naturally will be the film deal
who do you think should play the star ?
jason statham sprung to mind but do you think hes too old
tom hardy would have to lose weight
maybe matt damon ?
