I have a fairly old laptop but I system restored and deleted everything off it except zwift and a basic music player and chrome (but never have chrome open whilst on zwift as it chews up memory). Works reasonably okay given it's age

Only on big events do I tend to notice a pause in the graphics. Hell its nothing compared to the old Bkool days but we wont go into that. Actually looking at Steens ride videos, bkool have done a decent job. Just not enough riders on bkool to tempt me back

Yes, many riders in the same race will take its toll on your computer and the graphics card. Zwift only show 100 nearest riders, but for some low end systems that might be too much. I rarely have any severe stuttering, apart from the starts with 100s / 1000s of riders in the same pen.
I'm torn between a whole new build or maybe a nice big TV with apple built in. The hard wiring job will be done soon in any case.

Check any inbuilt Atv has necessary memory etc to run zwift as well as the Atv itself. I may have bought a NEO bike I can’t carry into loft so I am using with Atv in the living room and I am pleasantly surprised at how good zwift looks and runs. Near instantaneous start up too.
The remote though is shocking for anything other than choosing a box set to watch.

Yeah GP lama using a GTX 290 graphics card which isn't cheap yet the apple ATV doesn't look much worse.

Apple TV 4k all the way here. Great bit of kit, just works seamlessly.

Only thing to be aware of is the limit of 2 bluetooth connections (trainer and hrm for me). If you need more than that, go through companion app.

There is no support for ANT+ either, but I see that as a positive. Blooming awful protocol for indoor training! Bluetooth massively superior.

I was always lead to believe Ant plus was supiour.
My ant plus dongle plays up with all the sweat on it. Time for a new one.

A TV with an AppleTV built-in does not exist! You may have AirPlay(2) support and the AppleTV+ (streaming service) app in the TV. That is all software, and has nothing to do with an AppleTV (4K) which is a hardware device.

The word is that ANT+ was not designed for indoor use really. Having said that, I use ANT+ for my connections. You are right to be wary of sweat on the dongle - I think that is what killed mine last week.

I have mine literally under the turbo, its isolated from sweat. I use a 3 metre powered extension lead

There is hordes of riders on BKOOL right now in the races arranged by BKOOL. Usually 200+ in them races late afternoon/early evening and weekends.
Even the CycleChat league races get invaded these days!

Well I did the British Cycling race and had probably my best performance for a long time. Averaged 4w/kg and came 43rd of 228 starters and 24th of 160 on Zwiftpower. Also had my highest average HR that I can remember and highest HR.

I have recorded it - so if anyone is really bored, or wants to see how the BC race series goes - it is here

I've just noticed that Dean Downing came 10th in this race, 19 seconds ahead of me! Looked at his profile, and it looks like him
