The one I'm very tempted to try is FulGaz ... only thing stopping me is I still haven't got my front ring fixed so I'm not wanting to climbing big hill in 50 front ring only :surrender: After lockdown, I've promised myself to get bike fixed and will give it a go. From what I've seen it looks really good (and currently free I think)
Carl, I've planned a holiday to the New Forest next week:whistle:

I'll fix it for you:laugh:

Had a few rides on RGT since Friday, including a test ride today with my club for a road race we're running tomorrow. I'm not taking part in that because of the DBR race tomorrow, but thought I'd join the test event to see what it was like with a larger group. I'd ridden part way up Cap de Formentor (Mallorca) on Friday and was quite impressed by how good the graphics were. It looked a very good copy of what the terrain and the town of Port de Pollensa are like IRL.

Today, we rode on a time trial course that my club rides in the summer. Well, it was based on our course on the A24 south of Dorking, but it's like one of the 3D rides in Bkool that they create from a .gpx file. So, the A24 retained its nature as a dual carriageway but had been transformed into a causeway across water. I can't ever recall seeing any oceans near the A24!

The likeness to Bkool continued. After the turn on the TT course, I was heading back to the finish line when the bottom half of my bike and my feet and calves all sunk below the road surface. My avatar was swinging across the road like a drunk from time to time, occasionally stopped pedalling and actually turned around and faced the wrong way at least twice.

Afterwards, I thought I'd ride up Mont Ventoux, which is one of their featured rides. It's the side from Malaucene, which I've done in real life. Didn't really recognise any of it and 9.5 miles up the climb the simulator just disconnected from my Neo, leaving me stuck on the road.

I don't think I'll be spending a lot more time on RGT!

Have to say I was really disappointed with RGT although I maybe didn't give it long enough. Was watching on iPlayer the rouvy race that Rohan Dennis was in- thought the real video with superimposed clunky graphics looked really shoddy, and cars kept driving through the peloton.

Still not as bad as cvrcade. Hopefully it has improved a bit and they just released it too early.

Zwift has its issues but it is definitely ahead of the curve. Would love a genuine contender to arrive though

I think the race Monday conflicts with a meeting, but if I can get away, I'll join D. Is there anything else I need to do to make sure our team gets any points I might earn?

Great news @JLaw - Cat D would love to have your help! Make sure you wear the green & white basic 2 kit and if poss amend your name on Zwift to have (Cyclechat) in the surname so we can identify you!

I reckon, that Zwift has reached the point where its user base is too big to ignore, it attracts newcomers to them first. It does work almost perfectly, so complaints are few and far. It has almost every feature to keep a rider entertained (excpet HD video)

The only reason I can see Zwift faltering, is it becomes stale, users move to a new snazzy platform. But it will have to be good, cheap and extremely reliable

My conscience has been pricked and have registered for the c cat for tonight’s race.
Good luck D group, you can win it tonight!
Good luck with Cat C @Marino.g

Don't think winning it is in the realms of possibility this week (too hilly) but think we'll be competitive on the first lap sprints. Next week when the course is flattish however, that's when it becomes a lot more interesting!

On the Richmond course is it better to go with an aero set up or a climbing one?
Aero, climbs are 1min, 2mins and 3mins in duration. ^_^

It's kind of an in between course. If you are going for the early sprints definitely go aero. I'll probably go tron as climbs aren't really that long

Agree with both you and @mjd1988 on this.

I took a long time to move over from Bkool to Zwift. Mainly down to concerns that the courses were limited and that it was maybe too race centric. I was completely wrong on both counts, and I've really enjoyed the racing and team based leagues.

I've tried BRVR, but cancelled the subscription now through lack of use. I'm still subscribed to Bkool, but have only used it once this year. Not that impressed with RGT. I've been thinking of trying Rouvy and Fulgaz, but I'm not expecting to be blown away by either of them.

I've come to realise it's the number of people, the variety of rides and the social side that makes Zwift so successful. It's also generally reliable. That's a pretty high bar for a competitor to get over.

I'm not really that turned on by riding solo on videos, regardless of the video quality. So, that rules out BRVR and Fulgaz for me. I may try Rouvy, but I expect the lack of people and variety of rides will be the killer for me again.

I suppose that means for me, that Bkool is still surprisingly number 2 on the list. It does ride better than it used to for non Bkool turbos. But I can't see me riding there regularly, so its quite possible I'll end up just sticking to Zwift.

Yes, I see one of the ZSUNR riders weighs 67 kg one day, 76 kg 2 days later and now it is up to 81kg... That's some serious (almost) overnight weight gains. Must be the lockdown. ^_^ Helps a lot when you want to stay in the C group.
I don't know the guy personally who you're talking about @Brusgaard so I'm not here to defend him or anything but the way you have described that above is a bit misleading. I've looked and he's been 76kg solidly since November 2018 until earlier this month. During that time he dropped his weight to 67kg for one single event which was a XSUN team "chaingang" group ride with only 9 people (teammates) in it which he led. I obviously don't know his reason for lowering his weight for this one-off ride but it clearly wasn't to cheat in a race. Yes, he's recently increased his weight to 81kg and that's quite a jump from 76kg - again I don't know the reason and it is possibly that it's to remain in a lower category I guess? Or it could be that he's gradually put on weight over the last 18 months and only just got round to changing it.

You could legitimately question the recent weight increase I agree, but you're trying very hard there to make it sound worse than it looks in reality
