Do you just open the app or do you need a link for each event?

I have my headphones now how do I set up discord please

Open discord and touch the 'burger symbol' in the top left hand corner.

You'll see a green plus symbol on the left hand side. Touch that.

You'll see 2 prompts at the bottom. Create a server and Join a server. Touch Join a server.

Type this code into the line that says Invite Link:

https://discord.gg/vf2NeQ

You should then be joined to the Zwift Cyclechat server.

You'll see 4 options:

#general - this is a text chat service

General
CC Zwift Races
CC Zwift Social

They're all voice chat servers. You can use any one of them, but I'd suggest touch CC Zwift Races and touch Join Voice. Make sure you don't enter voice chat with your microphone muted. You can see the microphone icon at the foot of the page. If there's no line through it. you're not muted! At then end of the race, touch the red handset with an x next to it and you'll be disconnected.

@Marino.g - for me, you should clearly ride the C race tomorrow. You’ve earned the upgrade, and moving up will see you continue to improve. I think you’ll do better than you fear in C...

You’re considering joining a weaker ride specifically to try and swing swing the result. That doesn’t seem right to me. I know you started the league in D cat, but the rules are the rules and they say you should join the appropriate race for your ZP category.

There is a lot of complaining about sandbaggers on here, I’m sure you’ve seen it (and perhaps even joined in!). Resist the dark side!

Just my 2p, and I’m sure there will be other views. You do what you’re comfortable with, at the end of the day. I suppose there is also an argument to say do it now before the new regulations prevent it!

For what it's worth I agree, if I thought another team were loading the c race with a b to mix things up I'd be pretty annoyed. But then I probably take it too seriously!

If youve joined the discord channel then it's just a matter of pairing the headset with the device you'll be using discord on. Go into the cyclechat discord and join a voice channel. There are two voice channels set up, racing and social. If you want more let me know and I'll create them.

Open the website (https://discordapp.com/channels/295982954210000899/295982954210000899) and I see the CC groups on there (I think @kipster added me ages ago - I think it was back in Bkool days)

I literally just opened the website, clicked on the CC race group and I joined the conversation.

I think we'd struggle with only 3 in the team............. well I'd certainly struggle!

I followed up with WTRL and they've offered me what looks like a guest ride with one of their teams at 6.30 this Thursday, so I can get a feel for what getting my arse kicked in a Team Time Trial feels like.

As I said earlier, if we can get another couple of people interested then I'm happy to enter us as a team in future

Had a few rides on RGT since Friday, including a test ride today with my club for a road race we're running tomorrow. I'm not taking part in that because of the DBR race tomorrow, but thought I'd join the test event to see what it was like with a larger group. I'd ridden part way up Cap de Formentor (Mallorca) on Friday and was quite impressed by how good the graphics were. It looked a very good copy of what the terrain and the town of Port de Pollensa are like IRL.

Today, we rode on a time trial course that my club rides in the summer. Well, it was based on our course on the A24 south of Dorking, but it's like one of the 3D rides in Bkool that they create from a .gpx file. So, the A24 retained its nature as a dual carriageway but had been transformed into a causeway across water. I can't ever recall seeing any oceans near the A24!

The likeness to Bkool continued. After the turn on the TT course, I was heading back to the finish line when the bottom half of my bike and my feet and calves all sunk below the road surface. My avatar was swinging across the road like a drunk from time to time, occasionally stopped pedalling and actually turned around and faced the wrong way at least twice.

Afterwards, I thought I'd ride up Mont Ventoux, which is one of their featured rides. It's the side from Malaucene, which I've done in real life. Didn't really recognise any of it and 9.5 miles up the climb the simulator just disconnected from my Neo, leaving me stuck on the road.

I don't think I'll be spending a lot more time on RGT!

I think it's a looking a bit doubtful that we could get a TTT team organised right now.

There's a few people who'd like to ride, but can't absolutely commit. There's also the DBR league running on Monday, which make things more difficult. And the recent good weather is a draw to ride outside.

Thanks to @IrishAl for his generous offer to help enter a CC team. I'm more than happy to look at this again later in the year if enough people are interested and the timing is better for people.

I'm still keen to try a TTT myself. There is an option to enter WTRL individually and be assigned to a team. While that's not as good as riding with teammates you know, it gives me a chance to see how it all works and without pressuring other people to join me. So, I'll probably try that route either this week or next.

Del you can have a place in one of my teams if you’re interested - just ask that you sign up to Zwift Community Team Ireland for the event and if questioned you put on a dodgy Belfast accent.

Edit - We have only just to going this last 2 weeks - no one knows each other in real life but the teams are bonding nicely.

Set CycleChat as your primary team on Zwift Power, finish the race and don't get a DQ!
