I’ll have to try and watch the monty python stuff as I missed most of it first time round.
I can remember “ what did the romans ever do for us”
I wonder, which of us has been a very naughty boy

I love that film - my middle daughter and my two grandsons started quoting it to me a while ago - so I watched it again with my wife who had never seen it - and still laughed all the way through.

F#ck off bignose
Oh, I'm glad the meek got something

I think that’s unfair. Let’s not assume that we all have the same preferences. So what if DBR is not for them?
The DBR stuff is quite new to us all and those guys raced a lot in the meet-ups!
Hopefully they’ll be back at some point (not that I think they left because of the DBR stuff tbh).
Yes I agree.

I’m trying to do longer rides over the weekend so Mondays should be my rest day
as well.
For me the inclusion of more D racers gave me the incentive to give it a go and it’s that team effort and comradery is what kept me going despite my points being null and void (have I mentioned it b4)
I’ve usually been the lone wolf on many of our team rides and have joined another team myself but it’s not the same so well done to @brusggard for bringing this league to our attention.

It was Carl's idea to do the (DBR) Monday race. I would never suggest a race league on my rest day.

It was my idea of the feltet.dk race, as this would fit my Zwift/BKOOL Schedule and the added team aspect. That and that those meet-ups (before the keep-everyone-together / elastic feature) were more or less individual time trial races and as such pointless if you wanted to ride with others. I get enough of that in the BKOOL League.

Quick question - does anyone know how to replicate an outdoor ride on the turbo, with any app?

I've got outdoor rides recorded on Strava and RidewithGPS and I would quite like to replicate the % gradients and time on the turbo. I don't have a head unit from Garmin/Wahoo, just a bluetooth trainer and iPhone.

Anyone know if or how it is possible?

Update - the tool on this page seems to work quite well for converting a .gpx from a route planning tool (like RWPGS) into a .zwo to ride in Zwift workouts: https://whatsonzwift.com/gpx-to-zwift-workout

Actually it was me who suggested the DBR league, but you all graciously agreed so it doesn't really matter.

I'd have happily done more of the Meet Up races that Paul set up for us, but I do agree that they did feel like individual time trial events, where there were battles within the overall race. I was never going to trouble the front group, but I had some good head to heads within the race against Carl, Nick, Michael and Chris and sometimes Steen. I think you're right that they did feel like the old Bkool races, which still follow the same format.

I really enjoyed the feltet.dk races. The team aspect appealed to me. I've always enjoyed team sports and relished the chance to contribute to an overall points tally and work with other members of the team. While I was in C cat, I got the best of both worlds as I was at the front of the group and part of a strong team. B cat has been much harder for me, but I still get a kick out of trying to push myself for the team, even when I'm trying unsuccessfully to stop being spat out the back of the group. So, I was keen to find another chance to keep that going when feltet.dk ended.

To me, that's the same as when I ride with my club on the road or travel to ride in the Alps, Pyrenees, Dolomites, etc or anywhere for that matter. Those trips have been made as memorable by the company and friendship as they have by the scenery or challenges of the rides.

Bkool used to do it. Also BigringVR allowed you to create your own rides. Even better if you add video. I believe @Aleman did a fair bit of it on both platforms

So it was you :tongue:^_^ Only kidding Del

I guess its was hard for some to take leading the group in races but then floundering in a bigger event:boxing:

That should be enough bait ;)

It's quite simple with Bkool ... IF you have a premium subscription ... You simply upload the GPX of the ride into BKool, and it will ... sometimes ... Depending on butterflies flapping wings in Hong Kong ... Generate a 3D route for you ... It works best if your ride is under 60KM long. Videos are much harder work, especially for BKool ... BigRingVR allows you to ride a GPX track with synchronised video for free ... I've got a couple of zip files on here somewhere of some routes I did in Mallorca, and I think some of my local rides. ... Possibly, although they may be in BKool.

I'll see if I can find them

EDIT :

Here are the promised videos of an approximate 100Km loop going from just outside Puerto Pollenca (I forgot to start the recording  ) Up the Col de Femenia to the viaduct at the turn off to Puerto Sa Calobra. The descent to the port, with the short climb of the Coll del Reis, and the subsequent ascent back up to finish at the top of the Coll de Sa Batella. Then descend Sa Batella into Caimari, and campenet before returning to the Pollensa Park Hotel in Puerto Pollenca.

I've split the route into three sections of just over 30Km to try and get better video quality in Bkool, obviously that's not an issue with the files in BRVR.

Part One - Up Coll De Femenia (5.76Gb) - I think there is a few seconds difference between gradient being shown to change and it actually changing for some reason
Part Two - Sa Calobra Down And Up (7.63Gb) - Watch out for that coach and the moron shooting past you at the bottom of the descent!!
Part Three - Down Coll de Sa Batella (4.91Gb) - Got a Buffer empty message on this due to the slow real descent and the very fast trainer descent, also had several jumps in the video as it tried to keep up. (BRVR Doesn't like hairpins on descents ;) )

Gpx Tracks for all three - This is a real zip file, so unpack the three files into the same directory as the video files.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been on here much at all lately - nothing personal, it's simply that I've been pretty stressed with the whole lockdown situation for various reasons and I just found myself not coming onto the forum like I normally do in my normal daily routine - no other reason than this. I am literally about a month behind on what's going on!

I also lost my motivation for racing for a while but I am now keen to get back into that again. You're right that I have joined the zsun team on zwift to try doing some racing with them. Again, nothing personal, and I'm just giving it a go at the moment (I'm still in the CC team on ZP, just made zsun my "primary" team for now).

Zwift racing as you know is most fun when you're racing with or against people who race at similar pace to you - Tommy and Lee are the two people I tend to be closest to most of the time (even though they keep battering me at the moment!) and as they were giving zsun a go it made sense for me to as well. When I did a couple of the Danish league races recently, I didn't enjoy the racing that much - not because I got a kicking which is true! But because I had no Cyclechat B cat teammates near me for most of the time - I think at the moment that would happen a lot doing organised zwift series races in the CC team for me - particularly without Tommy and Lee around. By contrast, I did my first race with zsun last night and there were 12 Cat Bs from zsun there and I was with teammates for the entire race (and Tommy wasn't even there!) so it was a big difference! So as I say, nothing personal at all, just to do with the current make up of riders on here - which does seem to have a strong group of closely matched C Cat riders which is great - and also a desire to try something different as I haven't ever really done much of these organised zwift race series in a team.

As for the "social" meetup rides some of us have been doing on a Wednesday I'm very happy to keep doing this if there's interest - numbers were quite low last week so let me know if there's still interest in doing it and I will set up a meetup :okay:

And yet our avatars make us all look like ginger siblings from a very large family
Of course, there's a lot of Zwift newbies joining the races now and many of them don't have a wide variety of kits to choose from yet, so they are actually choosing to wear the basic green kit (I believe we picked it because we thought nobody else would). It did mean that there were points during this week's race where I wasn't sure if I was riding alongside a CC'er or just someone who happened to be in that kit!

I'll admit though I didn't go full ginger dreads this time, but went with my normal hairstyle and the orange cap on top instead...

Great reply Paul,

We, the royal 'we' thought we'd done some thing to offend a few of you. I know there was a little bit of tension releasing at the weekend but it was just that, lockdown tension I suppose.

You never know we might pop across to Zsun--I think I'm a member already from ages ago for a bit of racing too:eek:.

If you leave that forum, then we all know, we smell and you don't want us around

I'll definitely try and do whatever rides are posted, cant guarantee all but will try :okay:
