So the prime is just after the cobbled climb?
Or at least close enough that that is where the attacks will happen?

I visited the smoke, in a humanitarian capacity(collecting recovered daughter). I thought we were quiet around here. It was like a ghost town crossing London, saw only a few cars moving, more joggers than anybody else. I could see the sky too. Richmond park locked off to traffic.

Inside the M25 12 miles covered in less than 30 mins:ohmy:

It's still a wait and see by the looks of it ... it feels like it should be simple, let a 'club' organise an event that starts in the pens, finishes at a finish point, and is recorded in ZwiftPower. I have a horrible feeling they will focus on the 'club' stats and the bits that no one wants, because it's easier and forget about the racing/riding functionality.

My tactics for tonight are ..... blast out the pens, try to get into the lead group, try to hold on for as long as possible, hope I come top 30 on the road :okay: Anything else on top of that will be a bonus

With this course being so fast, and the big guys pushing over 300 watts for the whole 50 mins, with little in it for the lighter riders, I'll be lucky to hang on to the main group for more than 10-12 mins. Just hope a group forms that I can join else it's going to be a lonely ride

The big younger riders can do 300+, BUT they need to do those numbers to hold off lightweight pesky wheel-drafters^_^

Similarly, blast from the start, aim to be sit in around 30th then I think I'll have to just go all out for the sprint/climb. Ill either be near the front going over or I'll be dropped entirely. After the sprints I really need the lull that only comes from being at the front, I'm actually usually way more tired if I just try and hold reasonable numbers than I am if I sprint full gas as I get that small recovery after that.

That said with so many sprints I do reckon a smaller group of top favourites might form on this course compared to the volcano crit course, and I dont think I'll have enough for that.

I was dropped on the first sprint of the Volcano course, so I don't fancy my chances tonight of seeing the leaders after the first lap :B) Like you, i'll try to go up the lump towards the front, and just hope I can hang on to Andy's wheel

Here's my tactics for tonight.

Join as early as possible and get on front row.

Exchange nervous messages with @Norry1 @peterob @LBHIFI and @Brusgaard about impending doom! Convince myself it's going to be alright and it's a new FTP tonight! ^_^

Rush off to toilet for last minute pee! Think about 'accidentally' getting back just too late for the start and 'unfortunately' missing the race, but decide that's just stupid. Think of the point for just finishing!

Back on the bike warming up. Consider killing myself. Petersen is dead and he wins sprints every week and usually places in the top three!

Countdown begins. I'm pushing massive watts, more than I've ever done. These intervals are starting to pay off! I'm still hanging on. This is great. I'm feeling awesome. But can I keep this up when we finally get out of the pen? :boxing:

God this hurts. Twang! There goes the elastic. I'm out the back but still chasing. Yep! That was the first bend I think!!

My eyes are popping out of their sockets but the gap is still growing. Here's the climb. Aaarrgghh!

8 laps later............

Only 4 laps to go. Dig in!!

How come everyone else has finished? :surrender:
