Ok. Off topic but a really good read. @Norry1 's coach wrote a book that is a history of a bicycle race in Ireland but is way more. It is filled with the stuff you would expect.. characters like a circus strong man living in the woods with a goat to train for the race... Betty Bassett types who ride long miles to get to races then ride home.
But also insight into the Irish politics and it's weird affect on bicycle racing the last 60 years.I had no idea.
The best thing is he is a really good writer. Its very entertaining and extremely well written. Some stuff that stuck with me was his description of fellow riders when he asked about one dominant rider. The way he wrote about their struggle for words in itself said a lot about the rider.

@Randyberlin I totally agree. I found it fascinating and much more multi-faceted than I had expected. You don't need to be a cycling fan to enjoy the book. It makes me want to keep an eye on the race this year, and who knows - maybe go watch it one day.

It also gave me some small insights into my coach

More impressive for me than great writing and riding, is the fact he kayaked all the way around Ireland.

Yes, the fence has been disabled by Zwift, as it is buggy. Last ride I did with it enabled, riders were zapped left and right, including me.
Not once did I pass the fence, and even with the fence 20 meters up the road, it randomly told me to get back in group. After doing that about 10 times, I and about 50 other riders got zapped.
However, we continued more or less at the same speed / wkg as the group ride. We finished about 1-2 minutes later than the remaining group riders, due to them travelling faster in a big blob.
I was in a TWENTY20 Road To Tokyo Ride where we ride Tick Tock route. Fast lap was bit of a nervous, at least it felt that way. End of a lap blob was stretch and start to separate two groups, i noticed that and i accelerate to first group. It didn't have to wait for long when unavoidable happened. It felt like part of riders would had enough for that speed and it's time to go, including me . Few PR in a last lap came too...as like a bonus for that speed change ^_^.

Sounds like my kind of thing, must keep an eye out for it

Did a hare and hounds race there.

Crazy c pace throughout- 130plus on the start line but huge group of maybe 40 stayed together until last climb when it splintered, and couldn't stay with lead group. Second group still just about held off all but the first couple of b groupers.

4 laps of Gotham course which I reckoned had a similar overall amount of climbing to stage 3, if a bit more spread out. I'll need a nice zone 2 effort at the weekend I think.

interesting...🧐. My BRT colleagues got an invite to this...more drag for bigger riders, less draftable distance, double draft on.

Hi,

Get in shape (or excuses ready) for next week's race. Should be another fast paced race, with "the leg snapper" to wear us down on all 3 laps.

Anyone able to post the translations (specificially of the C race) here? When I try the links, a pop-up asking me to subscribe to a newsletter appears over 90% of the page and Google Translate won't let you click on the "X" to dismiss it - instead it thinks you want to query the translation of the pop-up itself. Even if I go to the original page normally and close the pop-up, it still re-appears when I try the translated version again!

Good/interesting that Zwift are looking at potential tweaks to drafting.

The halving of the distance draft is felt I assume would make it even easier to accidentally get dropped by a group if you drop off the back for any reason. This in turn will tend to make people more careful to stay high up in the group and maybe push hgher watts to be safe - which in turn will make the group go even faster. Personally I don't think that would be a good thing as I think the current dynamics of drafting groups in Zwift is that they go too fast already, and are too hard to bridge back up to solo, or make a solo attack away from

I think it's the google translate links that are causing the problem. Try this link instead https://www.feltet.dk/nyheder/taette_afslutninger_i_c-_d-_og_e-loeb_ved_feltetdk_race_series/

I was able to close that pop up via that link, then right click and select "translate to English". That's on Google Chrome and worked fine for me. Tell me if it doesn't work and I'll copy and paste it
