Dean, I feel your pain. Rest and recuperate.
I kept going coz Kipster was chasing me. I eased towards end and spun my legs and feel a bit better for it.
I saw you were 100m ahead and went off to find you, I had a battle with the other guy riding with us towards the end but he had more to give....

I thought you were off to find a race and were just using the Sub 2 for a warm up

I was but the race can wait till Thursday. It was good having a little chain gang going till the others dropped off.I was spending too long at the front. Nice power towards the end there Paul.

The new Zwift link is not perfect but a marked improvement with zoom able map, option to message all in. A group or individual riders. Much easier to give ride ons too. I pinched the map screen around my group and gave all of them ride ons. That’s cool.

NEW GROUP WORKOUT
Hi all, you may recall that I mentioned a new feature a while ago that allows riders of different capbality to ride togther whilst doing a workout. Tonight ZWIFT have taken the first step towards this by running the inaugural ZWIFT workout group event. The Wringer was chosen, which is a tuff, short workout. The intervals are based on you FTP logged within Zwift. I joined just to see what would happen.. In the pic you can see that it had set my intervals to 475 based on my 231 FTP. In the future I will be able to create group events based on a workout that I have created and eveybody can then join.
PS - I can see that when this goes live that WBR will fill every spot with a ride as these rides do not require a leader..

There seem to be quite a few group workouts scheduled. If I hadn't done the sub 2 I would've probably done the zwift one, although my FTP is 250, so my intervals would've been over 500w

D Abbot was in that ride .... didn't realise Diane was looking to lose weight by cycling  Not sure I'd want to draft behind her in full lycra

had a go at the flat race this morning - upped my weight a little
entered the c cat and must admit i was trying to hide behind people all the way round
got dropped at the end as i wasnt expecting them to go quite so far from the line ( over a mile out ) so i lost the group i was with and had to try on my own for a mile
get over the line and i got bumped from c to b even though i came nowhere again
so should i just put my weight back down , go for a hilly one and join b group ?
i will get my butt kicked but it should be a workout !!
Weight doping is frowned upon amongst the racing community. You can't select a category based upon elevation and your likelihood of contesting a podium pace. As imperfect as it is it's based on your ftp and your actual weight. So if that puts you in Cat B then so be it. Race in there and develop your racecraft and you will get stronger. Go hard at the start to ensure you don't get dropped; attack all the inclines ensuring you carry your speed over the crest; and draft as much as you can. :okay:

As mentioned I was trying to watch Carl race, but it turned out to be impossible.

I could see that Carl was "Zwifting now" on my Phone. When I switched to details, there was only one "Ride on" button (it was probably me sending that during the race ^_^).
I then started Zwift on my PC and chose to just watch, which took me to an random rider.
Then found Carl on the app, and now there were more buttons. Clicked the "Fan view" but noting happened. Clicked it again and it switched view to myself. From here on the button had no effect.

I then tried to re-logon to Zwift on my PC and join Carl. That was a bit bizarre. Apparently you can join a rider, even during a race (Carl, did you see me?), initiallly in "Pedal Assist" mode, but that is only for a short period. After that you have to ride normal.
Skip the pairing screen and then 'ride with'. During the pedal assist phase just click on a their name on right hand side. Doesn't matter if you hit wrong name because you'll still be 'riding' with that group.

tried it last night ! put my weight back to normal and joined the race at 8 . lost the first group instantly even though i was roughly 5wkg but i was expecting that and fell in with a group of 6sh and it was working well until my internet started dropping , one minute i was in the group ,then they disappeared , then reappeared either in front or behind . at about 5 mile in internet went completely so i continued on my own till mile 11 and bailed as i wanted a race with good legs , if i had continued it would tire legs out for a go tonight if there is one
but i enjoyed it more in b thinking - just go for it till your legs drop off !

Its the watch feature which just needs a search feature, to locate a rider or race. Thumbs up and comment. Don't want too much in he way of features. It would keep resting racers engaged with Zwift :okay:
