Ah but unless you're about 7 foot tall, being 95kg is a lifestyle choice   ;)

(As is my own weight I hasten to add!)

I might be ready to adjust my weight down a kg on Zwift for the ride tonight ....... what do you think Bob? Do I look a svelt 73kg now?

Just checked schedule for tomorrow stage 2 and aiming for 17:00 if anyone fancies helping me get a decent time ^_^
I've just signed up for 17:00.

I'm hoping my griping guts are ok by then.

That's probably a -5 out of 10 on the excuse front, but in mitigation the wife and I had a night away last night and we were in the bar and restaurant for 5 hours! That'll probably go to -10 out of 10 as soon as @<Tommy> reads this ^_^

Just spotted @Del C signed up to the 17:00 stage 2 ride too ..... hoping we can get into the same group mate and help each other along

Edit: what's the preferred bike on stage 2? Tron OK, or is a climbing bike with the lightweight wheels an idea? I'm assuming as 45 mins or so is 'flat' circuit, with 27 mins climbing then Tron would be a better choice.

Just saw you'd signed up .... not sure I fancy drafting your wheel if you're going to be farting the whole ride xx(

Can you go full pace yet, or still on 75% effort (or 50% if your wife asks  )

Still waiting for the CT scan results, so not properly full pace yet.

I've actually ridden the last 2 or 3 times much closer to full pace, which hasn't pleased my wife and made me feel guilty. I've felt ok, although I've tired towards the end of each ride, which I think is just down to taking it easier for the last month or so.

The one thing I have cut out is really attacking at the start. I've just kept it steady from the start, so I'm further back in the field. I've tried to ride a bit more in the style you've been suggesting and trying to just stay in the bunch until we hit the climbs.

I used to think about 95kg all the time. Then I dropped 20kg and I don’t think about it so much anymore 😁

Bloody miss the cake though. And I can’t look at a pack of cookies without drooling 🤪

You're 15yrs younger, faster metabolism, less body fat percentage ratio. You have done remarkably with weight loss:okay:

I only have to look at food and its 2lbs on

I think this is what I'm planning to do tonight .... but the heat of the moment may change this!

Out the pens push about 230 watts. Aiming to push between 210-230 until I get to the first Little Climb. I'm expecting, as always, that many will go off far too fast and, once they get up the little climb they will probably be on their limit. Will try to average about 280-290 up the climb and see what the group looks like on the descent. Hopefully I'll be in a decent group for the next lap, sitting in again about 210 watts, and again looking to push about 280 on the little climb. Repeat this until the final circuit and run in to the KoM. I'm I can rest for 5 mins in a group that will drag me to the start of the KoM, getting to the bottom about 45 mins in. On the climb, I'm hoping to get up in about 27-28 mins, pushing on average about 230 watts.

It's a plan .... let's see how I execute it

I had to run about 250-with 350+ to stay within a pack. If I took my foot off the gas, down to 220 I would drop out of the back within seconds.

I held 325 maxed 400W just to hold position on the Hugel

Went out on the 2pm session, final time 1:35:35, averaging 186W @ 1.96W/kg (with the caveat that virtual power is nonsense). Absolutely brutal.

Was pushing too much on the circuit, tried to stay with a group that was between 2-2.5W/kg, as I was finishing my turn at the front, we passed a slow group and I got boxed in behind them, the elastic broke, cooked myself trying to get back on.

That climb tho :B):heat: Going by strava, 42:09.
Was around 640th/903 at the foot of the climb, started backsliding immediately, gave myself the goal of not getting kicked out of the 600s, gave it everything I had left to do so. Final result 698th :hyper:
