A fair few Zsun were racing tonight and working together at the start until w/k took precedence over power on the hills.

Tommy they're pretty closed now, casual riders are not seen anymore. It's just that like tonight hundreds login for the race. It would be difficult to arrange all the positions. Like real racing you're only concerned with those near by. That's why I like to start hard and keep near the front, learn the names nearby and try and stick with them.

Well done Whorty, great time... how do I join the cyclechat group (that's if you will have me of course)
Just checked results - would of qualified & won the D group. Good to be back online again
Cheers @Monte

No idea how to join team Cyclechat ... didn't know we had a team set up in Zwift. I just added 'CycleChat' to my user name

Zwift power has live video bit generally covers the A cat mostly. I think if you login and see a rider you want to track, select watch instead of ride. Don't know if it works for closed races

There you go Rob

Looks like I average 288 watts over the hour(that's what Zwift power thinks anyway), with a w/kg of 3.15 which was just in the class C limit. Came 13th. Somehow peeps in front of me were faster but less w/kg .... clearly I need to learn some tactics :banghead:

I blasted out of the blocks ala @rob01792 on Bkool and found myself way out front ^_^ I had to slow down to wait for the pack to catch up  Figured as I was showing over 400 watts I might get kicked out if I didn't reign it back in :becool:

I actually enjoyed that tonight. Tried to wait for @JLaw but couldn't work with you mate. I was hoping I could drag you away from the group but the others just sat on my wheel so I decided to crack on and catch the next group who happened to be 'B' cat so I got a good ride with them for a lap and a half

Must u stay under w/kg at all time cos there no avg watts to see during the ride cos im probably a D but i would go over 2.5w/kg at times
It seems it's average over the race, but like you say it's impossible to know what your average is until you finish. I was certainly way over 3.2 at times, so was having to knock it back to ensure the ave was below 3.2 which I only just managed. I think there must be a trick to it ... maybe power up the hills and hold good power on the flats then drop the power on the descents ... maybe one of the regulars can advise?

Yea, I was hoping you saw my last gasp effort for what it was and wouldn't wait -- I was hurting after yesterday's workout and was fighting off leg cramps. Monte nearly caught me on that last lap -- I think he finished just 20 seconds or so back. RobT placed well too.

You seemed to be riding quite strong that first lap. Watch for J Ferres (Juanjo) . If you can pace with him you'll be in good shape. Ignore his rants in the group chat though. You've probably got enough raw power to challenge him on a flatter course.

You'll want to draft as much as you possibly can and stick with that lead group if at all possible (ie, pace with Juanjo).

I heard they look at the best 20 minutes rather than average over the whole race. Which means that I could just about DQ myself if I went crazy hard those first 20 min, then backed down to a crawl for the remainder.
