I started to pull away with some of them but we were asked to slow and I did. They were putting out more than I could anyway. Sometimes the legs don't want to know about 4w/k let alone 5 or 6. Put stopping for 2 mins with fans on and legs tightening is not good, at least not these aged legs.
I've found having fan control nearby helpful. The pull chain to control speed of the ceiling fan is within reach as is the remote for the floor fan. So I start on slower speeds then crank them to full blast once I'm really into the ride.

It certainly makes a difference too. I've just got one box fan and no central AC at the vacation house -- and when I ride there its always much more of sufferfest as the room just gets too hot/stuffy, even with the windows open.

I just have a on/off switch nearby. Still amazing to see HR drop almost instantly when I switch on the fan.

I did a gentle workout a few weeks back to shake off a cold, I rode without the fan off, my heart rate just kept rising for the whole ride

I am sweeper on the Zsun chain gang ride on tuesday if anyone wants to join in. I know it is normally a catA/B fast paced ride but we will be running a little slower not least in hope i finish the ride :laugh:

Can you believe Whorty riding without a fan for a year or however long it was?

First we find out he's riding something with like 3 working gears, then no meds for his asthma, no clipless pedals, low pressure in the tires, brakes and tires rubbing, then no fan. No wonder he's rocketed towards the top of the CG groups now that all that stuff has been fixed. We were competitive when he first started, but no more....

I started the social rude tonight but a combination of boredom at 126w and realising I need to get myself in order for tomorrow prompted me to stop. I had heard you could do this on a social and it would keep running and count. And it did! Bit sneaky but I will cope.

Cheers @JLaw ... very kind :okay: I am so glad I made these changes and worked hard to get fit as it allowed me to have proper ride out days like on Saturday with the other guys around the Isle of Wight. Made all that hard work worth it :becool:

Just did my first Zwift race this year and found the mini map to very helpful. However, I was not entirely sure where I was placed during the race. I though I finished top 30, but the grim reality was there in the results: 72th :surrender:

My avg. power was ok though, about the same as the winner. I think I need to learn a few tricks in order to climb the leader board.

Is there a way to check ones position during the race?

Yep, couldnt get a leader. usual guys were on Velo and need some recovery time:rolleyes: Actually, the ZA is messing with things a bit given it becomes increasingly demanding.

I will be on tonight but either W5 ZA or one of the other event rides.
I'm need to do W5 ZA as well and it looks brutal.

That's the only downside you don't know your position in the race and no way of checking.
What category did you race in? Maybe drop a cat for better results.
