Hi Tommy. Its the difference between my best and my worst right now, but if I leave it longer it'll get much worse I know. I'm getting the impression that you've had an "off" or something? It'd be great to do some laps of the park with you once you're ready, and hopefully your fitness wont have dropped off as much as mine. Also, @bobinski although I'd probably have to sit in your draft to keep up.
If you are injured Tommy, get better soon and hopefully we can meet up for some fast laps and who knows, maybe you, me and @bobinski could eventually try to beat some personal lap records if we worked together at it.

I broke my wrist a few weeks back. Put a bit of a fullstop to riding for a while. But I’m healing well. I’ll definitely join you in the park at some point though bud.

Could this be a shot across the bows about being hairy ? Don’t worry sonny , everybody grows body hair after a certain age , some are just late bloomers - have faith and eat your crusts

I hope you didn’t spend too long thinking about that ^_^. You may of noticed I’m at the point where I’m doing the opposite of growing new hair

I now have a Kurt Kinetic R1 trainer, Netgear WiFi range extender, Garmin Edge 1000 over-complicated speedo, and a laptop that can run Zwift. I have got all this stupidly complicated stuff because I live near Oxford and find the roads too busy to ride on the drivers don’t pay attention, I had a life threatening motorbike crash previously.

Last night all this computer skulduggery worked fine and I had great fun on Zwift, tonight however things went from bad to worse and the trainer got really hard to turn after I fiddled with the Garmin, trying to increase the resistance a bit. What it first did was the Zwift couldn’t read internet for some reason. I’m now a bit lost even though I looked at the Kurt Kinetic website for an answer but that just has about a hundred problems it could be,

Has anyone else had a similar problem that they have subsequently solved?

Remove the Garmin, take to another part of the house so its bluetooth is out of range. Just use Zwift to control the trainer in Ant+ FEC mode. Strava links seemlessly to Zwift, so rides are posted for you. Sometimes a gps unit when detected by the trainer will allow it to compete for resistance control over Zwift-all sorts of weird resistance will happen.

I had it when I was trying to use my Wahoo(testing crank PM) with Neo turbo, the Neo linked to the Wahoo Elemnt and resistance fluctuated all over the place.

Ouch!! That is not good. Definitely the type of injury you need to be properly fixed before back on the bike as loads of pressure on the wrists.
So take your time as I'm still not even capable of three laps if last nights attempt was anything to go by and I hate to think how many commuter cyclists cruised passed me as I strained to achieve my 2 lap 17.5 mph.

You know it yourself Bill. It’s all about consisrency. The more you can get out on the bike the better. It’s a bit wierd getting fit for the winter rather than the reverse. But whatever base you can build now will pay off in a couple of months time when you fire up the turbo. That’s what I’m telling myself too!

Thanks CXRAndy, I'll give it a go right now, Wednesday 19.40, just going back out to the shed.
