D'oh ... been relegated back to Cat C in Zwiftpower

@peterob , @bridgy - happy to stay in B for the league or get pushed to C .... easy either way as I only look at the overall ranking anyway :okay:

I don't know what makes a bigger difference outdoor vs. indoor ride but i feel that i ride ascents irl better than indoors and sometimes even bigger gear. One reason is probably difference with inertia and bike wobbles freely when ride out of the saddle etc.

I think it is the ability to swing the bike under you and feel stable standing up that allows more power to be output.

I guess it just a feeling but i feel that irl ride i can use whole body in a better efficient as well because of what you mentioned.

After just doing a real world climb I couldn’t disagree more. It sucks. Where is my fan? Where is my generously slope leveling BKOOL pro? Taking 200 pounds up 10% was way more work than my sweet sweet BKOOL pro.

I guess I better work on getting into shape!

It's all mental for me. On Zwift/BRVR I can climb steep hills (at NEO on 100%) as it makes no difference how slow I move I know I won't fall off. IRL though, as my speed drops I start to panic, and my mind plays tricks, so I'm constantly looking for places on the road to bail and set down. If I can get over the mental side I may be able to climb better out there in the dangerous real world

I had a real world ride yesterday, my first since TOC and I think only my second ride over 25 miles on the road since last summer. It was strange with the bike feeling lovely smooth, swallowing all the bumps. I thought to myself how nice my Tripster is to ride. I checked tyre pressures this morning 25psi . In spite of this I oddly didn't do too bad for segments, clocking lots of 2nd/3rds for climbs and pbs for descents-to be expected as I'm 2 stone heavier currently than winter just gone.

My research in bikes is drawing me to either the Bianchi CV Infinito or Trek Modane or Specialized Roubeax. I'm leaning towards the Spesh or Trek due to the general consensus online that Bianchi's are overpriced for the spec.

Do I go Di2 or stick with mechanical Ultegra? LBS do Specialized and will be getting in the Roubeax 2020 in the next week so I can see it in the flesh (they have Tarmac and S-Works so have had a look at those already. I do like the yellow Roubeax :girldance:

The reading I've been doing all talks about these endurance bikes, and how smooth they are on poor roads. Just need to sell the house then I can look to pull the trigger :cursing:

My brother in law and his mate both have the 2018 Di2 specialized Roubiax, disc braked. They both like them after a year There are a few high end 2018 Roubaix still available with Dura Ace groupset in mechanical. Last year high end mechanical or this year Di2 Ultegra- decisions decisions

I nearly convinced my in-law to get the S works frame, bcause it had a lovely purple with flip paint job. You could buy a 2017 frame and have custom paint job then spec bike with what groupset and wheels you like https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/6797/2017-s-works-roubaix-frameset/

I was too busy last week (and away from Thursday) to sort out a league ride, but with this pleasant weather I think not many of us are doing so much on Zwift right now? Personally I'm happy to still do a Thursday race if enough of us are up for it to make setting it up worthwhile - so is anyone else up for a Thursday Zwift race?

I'm still off the bike following my spill last week. May try an easy spin this week but doubt I'll be ready for another week or two for a full-on Zwift effort trying to hold your wheel Bridgy.
