Stages 1 and 2 were the Hare and Hounds races we did (hence the need to have a handicapped and non-handicapped table). I can't remember what the course was now.

@bridgy - are you able to indicate what the course for next week will be so @berty bassett and @CXRAndy and anyone else could potentially do it outside the race? If it's a TT then there'll be no drafting differences.
@berty bassett - and anyone else who wants to catch up - Stage 2 was a H & H race over 4 laps of the Gotham Grind circuit in New York. I missed the H&H race so I found a race which was only two laps of that circuit, but I continued to do a further two laps in order to get a time, so doing something like this might also be your best option unless you can find a race that does 4 laps.

Yes @peterob I'll try and sort out a TT route for next week and post it here soon...

Lee, after last night's excellent ride I think you'll go top with a semi-decent ride for the stage 2 course so definitely worth you doing!

That will be a totally different race I think
There’s no downhill so no time to recoup
You know it’s a long hard slog so go off too hard we will blow up , too soft and lose time , but if you see a little blue blob nearing it will be so hard not to up it a little
What's been helping me recently is the time spent on BRVR doing the long relentless climbs on there; at 100% realism, the 90 mins plus climbs are brutal for me. But, they really helped me last night as I knew I could hold 3.0-3.2 w/kg on each of the climbs as I had a recovery in between. With the Alpe I will have to treat it like a BRVR ride and pace myself up. But like you say, it's so hard not to react to a fellow CCer when they enter your 'nearest rider' table

Right, I reckon we should have a change from last night's hill-fest and go for a flat-as-a-pancake Time Trial next Thursday.

I propose we do 3 x laps of the "Watopia Flat" route - here is the segment - https://www.strava.com/segments/12136784

I will set up the meet-up to be on that course which is 10.2km long, but with a total distance of 32km (to take into account the lead-in before the banner and make sure we definitely cover 3 full laps). Then, we'll take the times for the league as 3 x laps of the above course from Strava. Never done the distance change thing on a meet-up so fingers crossed it works!

So remember - TT bikes only so no drafting. But this means if you can't make the meet-up at 7pm next Thursday you can do the 3 laps any time you like on a TT bike. Still best to join the meet-up if you can though - it's more fun and seeing your rivals on course catching or dropping you will definitely make you squeeze a few more watts out!

You should get the invite shortly....

You should be able to fill more than 2, surely. I've been making great strides in my fitness and health and I'm happy to share this :okay: Keeps me focused and motivated, especially with the improvements I'm making ^_^

Whether anyone chooses to read them is a bit 'meh' tbh - just like I choose to ignore any technical conversations as I have no interest; i know others do, and they are welcome to talk techie, I'm a live and let live kind of guy. Life is too short, and I have bigger issues in my life, to be bothered :reading:
