I had 2 pops at Zwift today, with a PB for part of the Watopia climb. But I was downloading the RGT update in the background so I could ride up Ventoux-well from malaucene to Simpson's memorial. The download failed a few time but eventually got on only to remind myself just how relentless that 7-8.5 % really is. It is hard. A couple of riders in front of me bailed and after 22km and best part of 2hours I did too. I had about 8km left. Andy, it will be good training :okay:. Fuel up. I have eaten like a pig all week and as penance in the face of a big meal tonight had only eaten 4 rounds of toast today before my rides. After an hour on Ventoux I began calling out for energy gels and fortunately my son heard ^_^
Graphics are great. It just needs a bit of life adding, other riders, etc.

VRCRACING now with reality check.
Tomorrow the P race with the seriously juiced upped ones (Far East variety) in the A race. Volcano flat suits my 85kg.. just.

I did Bkool Ventoux when I was in recovery a few years ago. I nearly puked, died and suffered terrible food knock. Felt Ill for the rest of the day. Very poor planning on my part a woefully unfit compared to now. I think I did 2hr 40 with a least an hour in total agony, gradually grinding to a pathetic pace. I might try RGT for a training run. Is it realistic ?

I would say yes, it is. Very different to Watopia. There is no respite at all, no opportunity to spin and recover except for a few 3 % bits. My legs were so tired though that the respite was minimal.

The P Race was a bit different. Over 40 starters, but the start was less manic even though a group of about 20 got away. The pace was also slightly easier but with harder surges on the upslopes. The other strange part was that the second half of the race was quicker. All the top placed riders had positive FR's (Fatigue Rating - the right hand column in Zwiftpower) which divided your secong half power by your first half).

I managed to stay with the front group all the way but got out-dragged to the line despite having an Aero Powerup - coming 4th of the legal finishers. My legs also felt like they hadn't fully recovered from Thursday - so maybe I need more than one day recovery
