Sorry for this been out of touch for a few weeks. What’s the procedure tomorrow just log on somewhere and ride and will I then get prompted to the meet-up or do you automatically get taken there? Once there what’s the start do we roll out together for a bit then casually not race for a lap 2 laps??
Cheers
Sorry for the late reply @bert1971 - been a bit busy! As others have said, go onto Zwift for a pre-race warm up before 7pm - probably best if you go into Watopia as that's where the meet up starts, although probably doesn't matter. About 4-5 minutes before 7pm you'll get the pop up notification saying the meet up is about to start and a countdown to transfer you to the start automatically. We'll then sit by the roadside on warm up trainers until the start at 7pm.

I haven't managed to check out the Road to Ruins course but when we did the last one, it put us a couple of hundred metres from the start banner for the course so we could have an easy start, and then go for it at the banner (as that's where the strava segment we'll take our times for will start). I assume it will be the same tonight but if anyone has easy access to Zwift today, you could have a quick check of this by starting it up and selecting to ride Road to Ruins to see where it starts you in relation to a start banner?

The course is 31km and you'll know when you've finished as it will show your time on screen - like at the end of the Tour De Zwift rides.

See you all later for some type 2 fun!

Having to reroute the internet connection as the current room it comes into is having the ceiling down due to asbestos, got to look after these builders. This on top of not being to get out of the office early. Also will have to hunt down the Amazon box that contains the RG6 coax extension cable needed for the first part of the excuse. And my wife is working late so I have to cook dinner. Also have to be in the office for 5am tomorrow as the electricity board are cutting power to the building. Loving this week so far.

OK I just managed to check on my work computer - we will indeed be transported to about 200 yards before the start/finish banner for the Road to Ruins course. So when we start, let's roll together to the banner and then start racing from there

Us slower peeps might want to think about how we approach this. Let the fast boys, Paul, lee Pete and Tommy go, and then work as a larger group to haul them back in? We get the benefit of the bigger draft and a faster pace and wont have to work so hard individually. If I and others cannot keep the pace up then we will fall off but will have had the benefit in the meantime. Meanwhile they (boo, hiss...) will be having to take longer turns to keep up their advantage.

Leaving this wide open, are we all wearing a specific jersey so easily I’d?

Orange jerseys if possible please! You can also easily see other cyclechatters in the rider list on the right of screen as their name is highlighted green.

Remember for tonight's race - NO TT BIKES (as you won't be able to draft)

I've gone for the Zwift orange top ... the first option in the garage.

I've also changed my head gear ..... I'm going in disguise tonight

For me this will be the most interesting aspect, as most time I'm clinging on to a faster group but here we will have to be taking turns! Also will be interesting to see if there is a large peloton of C's that can wind in the faster riders or if everyone sprints out the gate and clings on where they are. You'd wonder if we could make a c "team" and send someone up the road to do no work while the rest chase.

The other riders on the course will be the big wildcard

P.s. I am on call but still hoping to do the race, if I drop out suddenly it's because the phones went off (or I don't want to take my turn)

Has anyone logged in today by the sounds of it a new update. Is it a long one as I’m cutting it fine as it is.

My update hung, I came out of Zwift and when I started again, it finished very quickly. You then get offered to go to the shop to upgrade your bike or kit-if youve got enough points
