Nothing regarding the temperature of the plate. Any fule know that if you put freshly toasted toast onto a cold plate you get condensation.
Leave the toast to dry out for a minute after toasting.
Heat the plate up.

Not anymore with most major brands, as the bottom of the tin has no lip (although, most of these have a ring-pull top anyway)

Let's not succumb to a media frenzy which usually turns people against each other (scones with jam on first for example). Not always.

Apart from the fact the top has a ring pull, the bottom very often has rounded edges, so nothing for the tin opener to grip. Though looking at the photos, that doesn't seem to be the case with the heinz bean tins.

True that - very vinegary & acidic IMHO. Lacks depth, unless you've got a vat of it I guess.

The sausages included with the beans in the tin are awful. I always buy frankfurters separately and use them.
