What a gorgeous day ! Sun was forecast. Route was planned. And we awoke; intent on making the most of it…..

Into the top end of Lowestoft Town. And past its most impressive Church imo….

Past the old, decaying Hospital:

And timed it PERFECTLY to catch sunrise at the monument / exact spot that’s the U.K. most Easterly (Ness Point):

IMG_8715.jpeg

Caught a glimpse of Gulliver - our giant Wind Turbine….

IMG_8718.jpeg

Along the sea front….top right in the photo above the playground - you can see wooden goal-post type structures: which were once used by the fisherman to hang / dry / repair their nets on:

Along the Coastal path toward home in the glorious Morning light….

Onto Macy’s absolute favourite place in the World:

Then across the still heavily frosted fields to complete our loop: (Feels like -6 degrees Strava said !!! 😳)

IMG_8732.jpeg

7.6 very enjoyable miles. And gets our dog-walking antics upto 275 miles for the year to date / 4.6 miles per day average

Good pic's and educational too! :notworthy:

back and brave
Idyllic 5km saunter across local tracks and lanes. Beautiful clear blue skies, not a breath of wind, sounds only of birds, cows and streams (and me wibbling on) It's why we moved here - to allow me unrestricted wibbling.

Just got the chance to post Thursday's walk in the Peak District.

I was up at very stupid o'clock & even an hour before my 02:50 alarm so decided to get on with my 2 hour drive to Hathersage where I'd planned a 9 mile or so walk up & along Stanage Edge on the OS app.

It was a bit after 04:15 when I set off into the darkness. With a decent torch plus a spare, just in case,

With a bit of a clamber to the top, I reached Stanage Edge well before dawn so was able to get to High Neb trig point to watch the sunrise.

Next stop was Stanage Pole best described
~ here~
The footpath I've used once before to cut the corner back to the Edge path was quite boggy but passable with waterproof boots 😂

P3060050.JPG

The access to Robin Hood's Cave is a scramble over these rocks & through the dark hole under the flat slab top/centre..

P3060048.JPG

I've walked past this before but didn't find the way down the rock face last time..

DSC_5895.JPG

I'd done most of the 'up' by now apart from a bit of a climb to Stanage Edge trig point.

P3060056~2.JPG

After this it was nearly all downhill back to Hathersage.. apart from this bit of 'up' 😉

I was back to the car, via a visit to Alpkit & the bistro next door for a coffee & sausage roll on 12 miles, some of the extra miles were due to me dropping a glove and doubling back to find it plus if you see something interesting it's always worth a diversion to check it out!

P3060069.JPG

As I was parked near the open air pool and had the foresight to take my swimming gear, I had a pleasant but slightly chilly swim for ¾ of an hour and then got the Brommie out of the boot for a pedal around the village for a while..
Technically, that makes it a triathlon, doesn't it!? 🤔 😂

3.2 gorgeous miles with my gal early doors this Morning. Then 3.1 Sunny miles around the Cultural centre of Europe (Great Yarmouth seafront) 🤣 before lunch. Which has just got ‘us’ over 300 dog walking miles for year to date……
