12.5 miles this morning.
It was a gorgeous day, blue skies and sun, with a cross breeze which made it a little hard going at times, but it felt good!

Took a similar route as usual with a little detour - it was nice to be out in the woods instead of the concrete cycle paths.
Here's a few pics...

40 mile regular loop this morning under bright blue skies with a crisp autumn feeling. Still breezy after 'that' storm but
a nice ride. It was good to talk to a few sheep today, they listen and don't judge.

Pretty much incident free until I got back to the coast ...situation normal...numpty WVM everywhere...I feel sorry for these
morons in their small narrow minds.

Back past littlehampton as usual.

Back now with a cuppa and a sandwich...

A gentle 30 miles this morning, it's half term and I'm at home with the children, left them doing homework while I disappeared for a couple of hours . They are 15 and 12 so safe to leave.

Glorious sunshine, very few cars, but a good breeze, mostly heading towards me. Still some trees across some of the very rural roads, had to dismount and clamber over a couple, loads of twigs, leaves, grit and rubbish on the roads, glad I was on the cyclocross. Disappointed with the 15mph average.

Not much time for a 'proper' ride today as I had stuff to do, so my route took in a visit to No 1 daughter and Granddaughter, LBS for some mineral brake fluid for the SL4, Lunch stop and 42nd Blood Donation.

Obligatory picture of Ducks.. (No geese today, sorry)

Just over 14 miles but nice to turn the pedals anyway

First ride since the NF Cycletta on the 13th Oct. My knee was playing up during that ride and its stopped hurting so I thought I would go for a quick wee spin.
I rode one of my regular routes. 11.1 miles in 52 minutes , due to the false start. I got 50 yards down the road and wondered why my head was cold, went back for my lid and started again.
Nice ride, I took it nice and steady and stayed in little ring all the way around averaging 12.7mph, which was a sight better than my debacle at the cycletta, let me tell you. I had a great time and will try to get out again tomorrow. I don't much like riding in the dark but until I win the lottery (or at least meet God half way and buy a ticket) I have no choice.
BTW, my numbers and timing chip for the NF Cycletta arrived in the post today  @Hill Wimp told me not to worry as she was sure that they would turn up. She was right.

Just returned from a very windy weekend in North Devon.

Bucks Mills & Clovelly http://www.strava.com/activities/91561717
Tarka Trail - Barnstaple http://www.strava.com/activities/91964586

Today I left our rented cottage in Bucks Mills & headed to Barnstaple for a train home to Bristol.
After the initial climb out of the valley and climbing to 200 metres I then headed to Parkham before following the peaceful flat & wind assisted road to Bideford, joining up with the Tarka Trail. Went via Instow & Fremington Quay where I stopped for a much needed coffee, before arriving in Barnstaple in plenty of time.
Stopping in the Wetherspoons for a reviving pint
Here are some pictures from my day !

49 mile club ride this morning, a bit windy with a lot of wet leaves on the country roads, the wind made it feel like it was a lot further, was not cold though, having trouble with what to wear at the moment, feels cold when i leave home but after an hour or so it warms up. wore a gillet yesterday for the first time and that worked well.^_^
AAAHHHH Gillet the best a man can get ??????

Its not Public art, its a saddle for a very big giant

Lol, almost became part of another statistic on last nights ride. On the old A1 (now the B1043) I was at the back of the pack when a stupid bimbo pulled out of a service station into the pack and drove off. How she missed six cyclists with very bright lights on a straight road and failed to notice us on the deck. My mate then spoke to the attendant he saw it all and couldn't believe it either; unfortunately the CCTV never caught it as the driver came through his service station from the restaurant/ hotel behind; makes me suspect she was p1ssed!

.Rode down to Leigh Woods this morning, excellent riding conditions, with plenty out enjoying the good weather !
Lots of green lanes to follow, as well as the 'Yer Tiz' MTB trail.
Great view across the Avon Gorge towards Clifton ( although my camera phone doesn't do it justice )

Then cycled across to the Ashton Court estate for an 'all day breakfast' in the Golf course cafe, a bargain for £6 including a cup of coffee

Classic hilly loop this am as it was pretty decent weather. Glossop - Chapel en le Frith - Edale - Snake Pass - Glossop. 65km, 1,250m climbing.
Unfortunately the weather was too nice to continue my "foggy day views in the Peak District" series so these will have to do:
Mam Nick. This is looking down into the Edale valley. About 20% gradient there, luckily I was about to go downhill.

Here's another one of the top of the Snake Pass. This is where the Pennine Way crosses so it's popular with walkers. Hence the "congestion". This is looking towards Manchester. Excuse blurry photo; windy and I was knackered having just climbed from the Sheffield side into a charming headwind

Back home, ham sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie. Am looking longingly at @Spartak fry up however!

I attempted a slightly longer ride this afternoon, but still taking it slowish. The route this time was out over Lyth Hill to Condover, Berrington, Eaton Mascott. A loop round the Cound and Harnage area then back via Acton Burnell, Pitchford and Condover again.

Some of the lanes are in a state again. Thankfully I have mudguards otherwise I'd be in the same state as @Wayne Tully.

I must admit to feeling like I was struggling in places on this ride. Out of practice , but it was good to get out even if there was a bit of :rain: towards the end.

There was a bit of a MGIF moment from a Range Rover driver who went for the overtake only to immediately slow to turn right.

20.3 miles covered today and with a bit of wind assistance on the way back I managed an 11.4mph average.

Looking up the drive to Condover Hall. Mark Twain came and stayed at the place twice in the 1870s. It's currently a residential activity centre.

Boreton Ford. The water is flowing a bit deeper and more vigorously than last time I was here. I used the footbridge.

Near Eaton Mascott with the Wrekin dominating the horizon.

Back at Condover on the way home.
