25 flat miles this AM of the locaal lanes, giving new bottom bracket chance to bed in. Lovley, sunshine but strong s/sw wind which was fun when it was behind me! First outing this year for shorts, fingerless gloves and new l/sleeve jersey. Which was nice.

How warm would it feel if not for that effing wind ridiculous riding into it and smashing Pb's when it's behind you,Just a steady 22 miles today for me felt like more when battling the head winds:heat:

After battling Easterly headwinds for the last month today I did battle with a South Westerly headwind, at least its a bit warmer than the Easterly, I badly misjudged the temperature & set of with gloves on bib tights a long sleeved shirt under a long sleeved top, the gloves were soon removed & I had a right sweat on for the rest of the ride, I managed to get a puncture to cool down a bit, it was a 2" (5cm) length of wire, looks like a bristle from a wire brush, I run tubeless on one of my bikes & when I was renewing the wheel milk I put some in the inner tube I was using today, it didn't work, it was all over the inside of the tyre I had to wipe it out with my jersey, what a mess.

Today's ride was a mixture of Bridleways, Roads and Footpaths with some really nice bits of single track, the old mine workings around this area have left a nice legacy of interesting tracks, part of the route was on the TPT and part of the Wakefield Wheel ( a circular route round Wakefield mostly off road)

How Old?

Just 18.8 miles today. It was very windy but at least not too cold. I haven't been out on the bike for a few days, so this was the first occasion without wearing about 26 layers! Just wore 3/4 tights, short sleeved top with light weight jacket, no overshoes and fingerless gloves (hip hip hooray as I hate wearing full gloves). I don't like wearing gloves at all but I once saw a photo of someone who had come off his bike and he had no protection on his hands - his hands were a real mess and so I now try to wear gloves on every ride. When will this wind ever die down?

I just nipped out this morning to do a 2 mile round trip to the post office. the wind was so strong I nearly ground to a halt when freewheeling down hill. Also got hit with a couple of gusts that nearly had me of my bike.

A bit overcast this morning but good enough, as I had a day off work. Let the wife leave me with a list of jobs as she left the house at 11am, and on went the helmet and I was off. I rode a lollypop shape today, going about 7 miles inland, do a 15mile loop, then back home along the same 7 miles I went out on.vHad a cracking time, but had the wind in my face on the last leg home that made that part a bit of a slog. I also managed all those little jobs as well, so top day all round. Now that I am indoors for the evening, the bloomin sun decides to come out !

20 something miles into town and back after a self-imposed cycling ban over the last couple of days in order to evict the lurgy gremlins who took up residence over the weekend when my immune system wasn't paying attention. Seems to have worked.

Took my cateye off the bike when I locked it up in town and noticed that I'd done exactly 1800.00 miles for the year to date. :becool:

After best part of a week getting over a bug I got out today with a pal. Very strong wind but the temperatures rose to nicely warm. We aimed at the Woods which were swathed in Wood Anemones. Absolutely stunning at Brand Green. Some Beans on Toast and Tea went down nicely before we rode back along the Hams with a helpful tail wind. 54 miles today and my first ride in warm weather in 2013. 3 Swallows spotted today too - so maybe things are finally settling into the correct Spring/Summer pattern
