Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I slept through 4 alarms in my phone and missed the club ride at 9am...it's a 45 min ride to the start...so at 8.45 I decided I'd ride my own ride today....ended up doing 40 miles....I felt lethargic and the wind just sapped me...cold and relentless from the east....usual array of driver wombats....nice, sunny, until half way when it all went very grey when I got to Arundel castle.
Then to cap it all off I got blitzed by this guy on a hybrid....massive fat bloke too...but wow could he move:laugh:......he shouted at me...'bit parky mate eh' as he sped past in his shorts and T shirt......hmmm....I'm telling myself this happened because I have such a lean physique that, unlike this guy, there are no extra energy reserves stored on my fat free body....that'll be it right??:giggle: ...yeah..thought so...

A completely uneventfull 41 miler down to Writtle College and back. I went into the tea rooms at the college for the first time. £3:60 for a slice of cake and small pot of tea. Glad I didn't order a late breakfast, I would probably still be washing up. It was a nice ride in the sunshine even if it was cold.

Well, it was the same route as Friday, Rather colder, with a fair breeze. I saw the buzzards again, but something was different. I felt faster, with less effort. Yes there was a difference - I was riding my new (to me anyway) Dawes Galaxy, that I picked up from Carlisle yesterday. I had spent yesterday afternoon just checking it over, even though the LBS had serviced it before I collected it. Impatient for the air to warm up, even a little bit, I put on almost every piece of cycle clothing I own (living with Reynauds Syndrome is a real pain in more ways than one) and set forth. I passed a fellow cyclist twice, I think on the second time we were both amused having traveled the same loop in opposite directions .All was well and I think I am going to get to know my new bike very well indeed. My MTB won't get forgotten, the knobblies are going back on and it will be used for what it is intended, so Newcastleton, Ae, Kirroughtree etc. here I come. I am now a two bike family:wahhey:

Final ride of the holidays - we have to go home tomorrow, but there are no photos - the weather and views have been better.
54.6km in 2hrs 40mins, 493m climbing (34miles 1,600 feet old school).
Only the 1 QOM today which was mine already (4 trophies in total (2*2nd PR+ a 3rd PR)), but at least I have now bettered my own mountain bike time (seriously good tailwind that day) on a climb on the road bike... Clouded over later on and the easterly is still bitterly cold and for whatever reason both of us were feeling it much more than the previous 2 weeks - 380 miles/612km in 2 weeks on holiday with the weather we have had, we are both happy.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
58.5 mile club run , 2400 feet of climbing ( i think 200 summat ) average to the cake stop 17.6, after it dropped as i towed some newer members home.total for the day 17.2 mph
Headed up around Shugbourough hall and stopped at the birches valley forestry centre for the cake stop.. in Cannock chase.
A fair bit of ice on the sides of the road and still about 4 inches on the tables at the cake stop, apparantly the MTB trails were shut due to snow and ice.
1 dropped chain
1 broken chain
1 fell off in a pot hole(well indicated )
Its not nice but at least i did not have any issues.

Fed up of the snow and work stopping me for the last two weeks, but today I finally had chance to get out :hyper:

Camera charged, but in my rush no SD card :shy:.

Headed from Wrexham to Harwden down to Deeside then over to the Wirral. Doubled backed from Neston and on to Chester via the NCN5.
Subway was closed ...I love Subway...found a Londis that sold warm coffee and a sandwich:cuppa:
Back to snowy Wrexham and washed all the salt from the bike..very cold now..Brrrrr

Looking at Dodgys photo of Llandegla I'm glad we decided to go local instead.
Had a cracking ride and ended going up Pots and Pans above Uppermill which was my first time up there. Mostly firm and crisp ground which is always nice.
Luckily I picked a softer bit to back flop onto. Bit sore.

Just an hour for me...suns shining and sunglasses gladly worn, are easy to forget at this time of year, but you can be uncomfortable without them. Sunny with a coldish breeze that gave me a cold forehead.
No big deal, just good to get out there.
