My boss told me he doesn't cycle to work because it's nothing but seven mile hill between our factory and his house, so at lunchtime I decided to find out if he was correct.

He is correct...

The journey back to work was awesome though, I managed to smash my previous speed record and went just over 36mph

My longest ride this year today. 55 miles around mid Norfolk. Lovely day but ridiculously chilly for May.

Only 23 miles last night but I probably should have done about 50 to cancel out the mahoosive steak and ale pie that I accidentally bought instead of the pea and ham soup I intended to order  :hungry:

20 miles commuting today, 6.5 miles this morning, 13.5 this evening.
One dead barn owl, several reed warblers churring away (i assume, you hear them, not see them...an almost train like rhythmic noise), skylark, plenty of waterfowl (in the fens today, dykes intersect everywhere)...nice weather, not too much wind.

Back on the bike again for a few weeks after breaking my wrist - stil painful but I can live with it. Went on the ByPass route today - about 34kms. My three major landmarks are a Hino/Kia dealership, junction of Hwy 205 and the ByPass and a PTT service station.
I try to reach Hino/Kia at about 30 mins, ByPass at about 40 - today, it was 28 mins and 38 mins and would love to get to the PTT in less than one hour but that is 27.something kms away and my average is less than 25. I must have had a tailwind good day today as I pulled into the PTT at 00:59:57! Could l do the last few kilometers and get home quicker than 01:15:00 - just missed it by 13 seconds.

55 mile loop on the s/s Manchester---Glossop--Holme Moss
and home, chuffin windy out there today,it did blow me up the
last hill on the way home which was nice

Didn't get to ride Thursday or Friday, due to work commitments - feeling something is missing!
Overtime tomorrow - if I don't get out riding I shall be most upset :-(
