A nice 53 miles today. From Whiteabbey to Donaghadee and back. Bit windy in parts on the way back but apart from that, lovely day.

Helped a damsel in distress on the way back. She was having trouble getting air in her tyre after changing a tube as she was using a rather small pump. My larger pump did the job for her and she was soon on her way

Great to be out on the bike again.

With university exams tomorrow morning and throughout next week, I cut my first ride in weeks (thanks to the snow/ice) down to a very brief 17 miles. Set out on the singlespeed to discover it has some issue (rear wheel making grinding noises, tried releasing the brakes as it sounded like that, but no change so must be something else). After a few miles, I turned around and went back home to get the touring bike out. Did the rest of the ride on the LHT. Talk about a difference though! First time I've ridden the LHT since well before Christmas; my 17mph averages that I achieve on the SS dropped to barely 14mph on the LHT, but it's like riding about on a cushion - so smooth and comfy! Just harder work . . .

Set out in drizzle determined to get a ride, met my riding pal and we did a fast 20.44 miles with the sun coming out and the roads dry in places. Well worth the effort. Brought my pal's bike home with me to give it a clean and a service because he's mechanically useless!
