40 miles, despite a still chesty infection, albeit on the way out now. Breezy, 15 mph winds, gusting to 25mph although i seemed to be sheltered at times by hedges etc.
Stopped at 30 miles in Oundle for chips !!! That was a surprise, a chippie open on a Sunday evening
Tired legs on the long rolling inclines (notice i didnt say hills:biggrin:) on the homeward leg. Still not 100%. This infection / virus is being a bugger to shift.
Good ride anyway, wrapped up well to protect a bad back, so a little too warm at times.

shoot man. What is the prognosis, how long will it take to heal up? How is your bike
Prognosis is that as long as the contents of my underpants don't go numb, then it'll take abut six weeks to settle down, then only lasting effect will be a loss in height. Like I really needed to make my BMI any worse:biggrin:

Bike decided it wanted to turn into a kangaroo and made a bid for the nearby river. As far as I can determine all I have done is bent the saddle rail. Need to check the fork seals as soon as I can.

I shall keep my fingers crossed for you (and the bike). ;)

After reading that you ignored warning signs you no longer have my sympathies.

Did 50 miles today, my full route including average speeds etc can be seen by clicking the link below.

http://maps.google.com/?t=p&z=15&ll...gps/host/8bc59dbc-2b51-4b84-884c-f04e4b82cfb0

This was done by using Motion X GPS software install on my iPhone. Start the software running then put the Iphone in a waterproof pouch in my back pocket and leave until I get back and stop and save the GPS tracker.

Below is the ride I did yesterday,,

So... another chance to ride on the lanes I guided 21 CycleChatters/YACFers along on Saturday, this time with a different destination... Walton-on-the-Naze. Walton's not that exciting a place in itself but it's the home of our boat and I was going sailing with my husband and his brother. They went by car, I went by trike - and stowed the trike in the car when I got there.

When we arrived we discovered an unexpected stowaway:

We set off from Walton with the skies looking heavy and the wind freshening. We headed towards Harwich and got a good view of the Felixstowe docks, including a pile of wind turbine blades (stored horizontally in this picture):

We weren't alone on the sea...

I was making a cuppa and chanced to look out of the window at this rather large vessel:

There were some pretty boats out there, as always:

After lunch at anchor just past Harwich we returned to Walton. The wind was much higher now, a Force 5, and so we were going well despite two years' worth of weed on the hulls. The wind was westerly and my 15 mile cycle home was due west so I knew I was in for a tough ride home.

Got back to the marina at 5:30pm and I set off almost immediately home. As expected, it took me much longer to get home with the strong headwind and occasional drops of rain. I was also very hungry but had left my energy bars on the boat. Still it was a good day overall, being pedal powered and wind powered too (ignoring the diesel power that got us from the marina to the sea!)

A very slow 118miles in the sunshine, unfortunately it wasn't warm due to a strong wind but it was enjoyable Dunfermline, Dunning, Crieff, Luncarty, Stanely, Kinclaven, Scone, Perth, Forteviot, Path of Condie, Cleish, Townhill, Dunfermline. On route I took these photos:

Over the years i've lived in Peterboro, i always considered it the 'windy city'...always bloody windy ;).
Guess what...its windy
Hard and unrewarding ride tonight. No great mileage...just too bloomin hard

dan_bo

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Had an hour on the velodrome tonight.

well, make that an hour minus getting the back tyre pumped up properly then realising it was a slowie and having to fanny about changing the bike, after which my head wasn't really in it.

So make that about twenty minutes blowing my head off on the track and twenty minutes wondering what that squidgy feel is from the back end.

It not just Peterboro, I needed some gear cables so it was a trip to a lbs but nothing additional. It was good fun the last wee bit when the wind was finally behind me.
