Any links to where I might get a pair? (I've been on the lookout for something good for ages - I just can't find anything that'll keep the water out for any length of time. Other than waders.)
I don't remember where I got them, but they are "Gore Bikewear" overtrousers by Gore Tex. I am really pleased with them, and they didn't even make that "swoosh, swoosh" rubbing sound you sort of expect them to. My clothes were bone dry underneath.
I to have to Gore Bikewear waterproof trousers. Mine are the packlite ones. Expensive but worth every penny and mine are still going strong after 7 or 8b years, many tours, years of commuting, using the mountaineering (preferred them to my 'proper' ones) and a dog attack! Wiggle, Evans and various others so them.

Well, after wimping out of the Rutland ride tomorrow I decided that this morning was my only opportunity for a ride. It was only a short 20 Mile loop around the Gransdens, but after a particularly brutal circuits session last night run by Matt the tw.. It was what I needed to ease the stiff back and battered legs!
It was lovely and warm, gloomy and damp. The field maples looking even more colourful against leaden skies. There were a few other eejits out today as well as myself.
I woke up this morning to find a puncture on the rear of my commute bike (to go with the front puncture I had on it yesterday.... Little bits of bloody Flint!) so I was out on my best bike. My reward once home was to clean both bikes and fix a puncture, which took as long as today's ride!

Rode to Fontaine de Vaucluse, the source of the local river. It was quite wet...

Weather forecast wasn't great for this morning, so had a choice of 3 things to do depending how it turned out. Full on wet: clean my office, Wet but rideable: mountain bike ride or mostly dry: road ride.

Woke to heavy rain and wasn't looking forward to cleaning duties, took the dog out and it stopped raining enough that option 3 became viable so a nice 33mile loop on the roadbike. My first time out in 2 weeks and really enjoyed being out there again. Extremely mild and only 1 sharp shower to contend with.

Office still dirty but, having watched the F1 qualifying it's now nearly time to walk the pooch again so it'll just have to stay that way - shame.

The forecast here was for heavy, persistent rain all day, so I decided to knock the planned ride on the head. Should have known better- it was completely dry and mild all day in the end. Sometimes I wonder how the Met Office manage to be so thoroughly incompetent or are they just taking the pish?

Did manage a quick dash around the village in the end, only a couple of miles. Still saw a kingfisher and 4 grey partridge so not a complete write off after all!

Tomorrow's foercast here is heavy rain all day, so I've got my singlasses and factor 30 lotion out in readiness.

Just 15 miles this aft. A favourite circuit from home to Disley, up over t'top to Whaley, back along A6 to New Mills then home. Trying out a Charge Spoon on the Sherpa; the Velo it came with feels maybe too soft. The Charge might be OK but it was only 15 miles.

Oh, and thanks to the 3 guys on roadies who passed me as if I wasn't there. Maybe it's just me ...

Funnily enough Dave, I have just changed to Conti Gatorskins from Racelight hard case as I had a glut of about 5 punctures in 2 weeks. Just a run of bad luck..... It's character building apparently!

Strange, I've been using racelite hard cases, the originals that are now discontinued, for years and have a puncture rate of one or two a year, I'm riding 4-5000 miles a year.

Apart from commuting its been a couple of weeks since I was last out
On the off chance last night, I text my cycling buddy if he was up for a ride today and he was. With chores and kid runs sorted 10am was agreed. It could of bounced with rain I was getting out today, but thankfully the weather smiled for us.
Didn't aim to break any personal bests, we didn't really push each other, it was about blowing the cobwebs away today. Stopped at Nets cafe down near Burton for Brunch and meandered home via Chester. Probably around 50 miles, enough for today.
White Cube was filthy when home from the recent rain and the sheep dropping from Burton marsh track.
