Its that time again...ive protected the pond..they emptied it last year bar afew Newts...

usually 3 Mallards ,so the other male must be lurking

Don't they fight? When a spare male has turned up in our garden e.g. this morning, there's a hell of a set-to!

I saw a Jay just on my last hill before the end of my journey, but it was too wet to try and see if he'd satay there until I took a photo.

I was at The Hub on Newcastle's Quayside on Tuesday, and saw a seal in the water. For those of you that don't know, the Quayside is 9 miles from the coast!

Alas, it's a while since I've seen a red kite, but I think that looks more like a buzzard than a kite.

Driving along the A14 just north of Cambridge we saw a White Stork flying over the village of Milton.

Damn no - missed that one. Would love to have seen it.
I've seen reports of a few storks this spring in the UK - blown off course I guess.
