Can someone tell me what type of butterfly this is? Spotted while Raspberry picking at a farm near Kinver.

It's a Comma, after the white mark on the underside of it's wing, nicely captured in your first shot.

On the dead cherry tree in my front garden in Swindon.

Lots of Sparrow Hawks, Kites and Buzzards here where I am. We are very lucky in that respect.
