Deffo a Green Woodpecker. The goose is trickier. It seems to be mainly Greylag but not 100%. Perhaps it's second generation so would be 75% Greylag, 25% Canada?Thought this looked a bit unusual. Just upstream of Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Most juvenile Canada Geese stick together in big groups; this individual was all by itself, and looks to me as if it might be a cross between Greylag and Canada. Any comments welcome.

Further upstream, just before the Clifton bridge, I heard a Buzzard mewing and saw it take refuge towards the top of a pylon, pursued by a smaller bird, which was also quite vocal. Can't be sure, but it looks (and sounded) to me like a Green Woodpecker.

don't know why but the tip of squashed rotting bananas next to my buddleia really brings them in to feedLots of butterflies in the garden this afternoon enjoying the sunshine.
