The Church of the good Shepherd. Apparently (according to the tourist board) the only example of Byzantine style architecture in Ireland although I haven't a clue what Byzantine style architecture actually is.

I don’t think I’ve posted this before but, if I have, apologies for a duplicated entry.

MBIFO la chapelle de Ville Tual, south of St Brieuc-de-Mauron. It was built in 1654. It’s rarely opened up now – perhaps only twice a year. I have a feeling that one of those days may be 15th August – so if I remember to have my camera with me that day, I’ll try and get some photos of the inside.

The wall against which my bike is leaning is full of huge lumps of quartz – presumably pulled out of adjacent fields when they were being ploughed. It’s a Breton tradition to place pieces of quartz in the walls of houses to bring good luck (there are several in my house).

St Mary the Virgin, Shrewsbury, one of two Peculiars in town, largest church in Shrewsbury, and possessor of the 3rd tallest spire in England.
The red sandstone tower is earlyish Norman and Nacht is in front of the south porch. Wikipedia says this was;
"built in Grinshill stone. It is in two storeys, the lower storey being built in the 12th century, and the upper storey added in the 14th century."
Apparently it was founded by King Edgar in the 10th century, parts of which are said to have been unearthed in 1864.
