Your Bike in front of a Church

Usually the excessive wind I encounter on rides is self emanating, but recently it has been meteorological in origin and never in a useful direction.

I often hear the odd thunderclap, and not a cloud in the sky. Weird that?

MBIFO of the church of Saint Barthélémy in Brignac this afternoon.

Not quite sure how old the church is but it contains some 16th century stained-glass windows (enhanced with gold leaf).

My bike on front of St. Wendlin's Catholic Church in Feldberg-Altglashütten, Upper Black Forest, Germany.

MBIFO of the church of Saint Jean-Baptiste in Ménéac on Tuesday afternoon.

It’s a “new” church – built 1845-49 – and, as such, it isn’t very interesting… but what it loses in historical interest, it gains in visibility. Ménéac is on top of a hill – at roughly 175m – which makes the church a very prominent feature in the local landscape.

The Paris/Brest/Paris race came through here in 2019 and the area in front of the church and surrounding pavements/car parks were full of sleeping cyclists for a couple of days. Ménéac will be spared an invasion this year as the 2023 race has been routed further north.
