Oh dear
I once tried to explain 5 day test cricket to an American colleague as we noted around England. Fitting in customer visits.

When I was a student I was watching a cricket match on telly and an American student asked me to explain what was going on. As a naïve young chap I was baffled. I didn't realise that there were people who didn't know what cricket was.

Questions included: When they all wear white, how do you know which team which?
Then I realised that I was not doing a great job. And most 'cans are a bit thick

It's a valid question. I just remember thinking "oh dear, cricket is more complicated than I thought"

I'd say things like "they change ends at the end of the over ... What do you mean 'whats an over'? .... Everyone knows what an over is"

I enjoy T20 one day cricket but the rules are different to standard cricket and I struggle to grasp it.
NB
I used to play what I call standard cricket so understand most of it but I find eg 3 day test cricket boring.

In Stuttgart there's a town called Möhringen ("Town of the Moor") which always had the crest below:

I looked it up and discovered that after complaints for obvious reasons a couple of years ago, a competition was held to make a new town shield, and now they have this:

Möhringing is now part of a bigger town with "Sonnenberg" (top) "Möhringen" (middle) and "Fasanenhof (Pheasant Yard") (lower)
I understand why they wanted it changing, and why they chose the new designs biut the other three aspects go back for up to a thousand years, when Möhringen was part of a different country. It's a shame they couldn't ditch the admittedly rather crass caricature and keep the rest.

At least they didn't replace the Moor's head with a swastika

Tbh I had the same experience at a baseball match?

I think objectively, baseball is a better format. The action is closer to the crowd and normally you don't know who is going to win with three days left to play.

I like them both. When I lived in NY I used to follow the Mets and went to see them a few times. Still like Cricket.

I quite like the 100 format of cricket. I do love proper cricket, ie, test and the county game, but the 100 is really just slog fest, a bit like baseball but with cricket bats and wickets.
