I hate the idea of killing the Queen (if she is one) as the wasps are a huge help I'm keeping pests down in our garden. We're going to snoosh the nest and hope the wasp moves on.

Whilst you may hate the idea, leave it and you will not be able to go in the shed this year because of all of the queens mates. You need to twat it with a long stick now, none of this snooshing.

it's too small for a wasps nest, it's either a bag of little spiders or a snail. if it's hard its a snail, if it's not a thousand spiders will leap out and eat off your nose if you touch it. if i was you i would set up a perimeter fence and call in the men in black.

in other words, it's pretty harmless.

on the other hand, it could be aliens.

ps... did you miss me? smokin joe did )) ...i'm coming back in T-5 days when my t'internet is connected.

on taking another look, it's a snail stuck in a daddy long legs web (a real daddy long legs, not a crane fly) and the daddy long legs is right there! SAVE IT!!!!

I've just seen a wasp go into the little lampshade thing, if it's a solitary wasp I'll leave it.

Either that or that big spider I hadn't spotted will do battle for shed-supremacy!

Maybe they are two teenagers, cast out for having a "mixed" relationship, their spider and wasp parents having told them that "it's not our way!"...and the spider and the wasp are setting up home in your shed. Perhaps you should think about that before you poke their housewith a stick...and instead bake them a cake, pop into the shed and introduce yourselves.
